yes it seems a bit of a con doesnt it? i've got a cmc doing 3 for me but if they don't get you a recovery they give the claim back to you without charging you then your free to pursue the claim to a conclusion through the fos or court yourself.
Many thanks for the prompt reply Cappo, the thing is, RBS have agreed to pay me for misold PPI and include 8% interest to cut out middle man Gladstone Brookes, what i didnt want to do is accept the money then get a counter claim from GB for half of what i accepted(or something equally ridiculous.
i knew in advance of GB's 25% charge, but now i know that GB get there info off the financial ombudsmen anyway in angry like you wouldnt beleive.
basically theyd be creaming off 437 quid from my offer!!:mad:0 -

I've now had this with my cmc now had £235.00 charges for recovering a misell for doing diddly squat (couple of letters), but the big prob is you would have signed a contract so be very careful, the charges for pulling out of a contract with them are anything up to £135.00 an hour it's normally in the contract. (they will at there discretion charge these amounts and probably book in around about 4-5 hours gippa it's going to be far easier to just take your win and pay them,i've now had hsbc try to do a deal with the 3 hsbc cases i've got left with the cmc the rest i'm doing, the bank have suggested dealing only with me on the cmc ones and cutting them out,but again you can't do that for contractual reasons as much as i'd like to.)0 -
You signed a contract with this company to get your ppi back, this they have done,so i am afraid you will have to pay them.Hi ive mistakingly used gladstone brookes to make a search on my behalf regarding misold PPI, but now ive had an offer direct from RBS.
Ive paid and initial 50 pounds 'admin' fee to gladstone brookes.
a friend who has just done a similar claim went direct to the financial ombudsmen who advised her never to used these claim companies because of the high fee's they charge.
does anyone know what would happen if i simply accepted RBS's offer and ignored gladstone brookes?
ive no problem paying them there 25%(yeah i know) but i'd rather not now that i know that gladstone brookes go through the ombudsmen anyway!!
any help would be greatly appreiciated.

:j:jWell done on your win though :beer:0 -
