Yes I did think of that, the a/c holding branch isnt too far from me, but I did ask advise at our local branch and they said that they wouldn't have it in branch as it was too long ago.

I think my concern is that i've read so much, & got all confused now about what forms I need to fill in and who to send them to! I'll write and request the copy of the original agreement, & see what they come back with, as I'm assuming that I'd need it anyway, so once I've got that do I just write & complain with maybe a template letter, or is there a sort of sequence of forms & letters to fill in?
Sorry to appear dim.....I'm not.....I'm just confused!!!! :o[/Dont worry, I felt just the same about reading too much and feeling confused. Just take it one step at a time. Read on Martins guide what to do and just do it bit by bit. If you send letters send them recorded, take copies and note down date when you send them and date they should have replied by. I have had success with two loans and am now waiting for two on credit cards and I wasn't sure I could do it but theres plenty of help and advice on here. You don't appear dim lol and you can do it! Good luck:)

I just wish a bank manager had tried locking me in when I wanted to leave.

Doubt he would use that tactic with anyone else again ;)

if it was repaid within the last 6 years, it will still be showing on his equifax credit report.

Get him to sign up for the free 30 day trial and request a report (takes 5 minutes if that).

The loan will show on there, but it will only show you the last 4 or 5 digits of the account number.

If you contact the company with this info and they still can't find it, do what i did.

Write to equifax and dispute the loan being on the credit report, citing that you have contacted the company and they have no records of the loan existing and that you cannot recall it either.

Tell them that you think a mistake has been made.

They then contact the provider and if it is anything like what happened with me, you will get a letter from the loan provider stating that the loan must stay on there as it cannot be removed before 6 years has elapsed.

The loan account number will be on their letter ;)
    bumping. Good advice.

I don' know if this helps but getting fed up with being fobbed off by
Counter staff or having to pay to talk junior staff with no authority in call centres.
Knowing that I have a genuine complaint, I have taken the step of e-mailing Ceo quoting my account no and details, saying that I am concerned that PPI has been added to my account without my authority or knowledge.
So far they have referred the complaint to Senior Staff. Capital One E-Mailed the Application Form back as an attachment in one & half days with a final rejection which I filed with Fos the same day who assured me they would accept copies of the e-mails as proof.
An e-mail to Santander Ceo relating to a duplicated Balance transfer being fobbed of by the call centre resulted in a telephone call and subsequent e-mails from a senior manager who is able to resolve the problem.

If you have a genuine complaint make to somebody who can make a decision

  • Hi can anyone help me, I took out a loan with first plus in 2001 for 27.500, paid it off in 2002 but paid off 34.500. I was mis-sold PPI. I have written to them but had a letter back saying time barred. Does this mean I cannot reclaim the money back. I have read lots of the posts on here but don't really understand. Also they have told me it was dealt with by Central Capital who acted as their broker.
