    ]Hi and welcome,

Well if you think you have a case then go for it.:)

Basically as well you can still make a reclaim on the one you claimed on, but the amount will be reduced on that one, due to using some of the ppi, and also depending on your reasons etc.

And also to be told if you cancelled you would have to pay the full balance immediately is wrong and mis-leading, I understand this is a common complaint, and personally with your reasons I would give it a shot, just as long as you have the account number details, you can continue to make a reclaim.

All you do is complete a reclaim questionnaire - step 3 below, send to the ones who sold you the account- complaints or main head office, allow 8 weeks, they may ask for more time.
Also keep copies for yourself as well.
    Good luck[/QUOTE]

Will do, thanks very much. Would it be wise to request a copy of the original application form, so that I have dates & any info re the ppi? Might help me? I don't have a copy of it - might have done at the time, but that was too long ago.

    Hi

Hey don't worry, you will soon get the hang of it, the main of us do the same at first, but not to worry:D;)

You could write a simple letter - enclose £1 cheque or postal order, give them as many details as possible in order for them to track down your data, they have 12 days, hopefully they will still have hold of it.

However the bank where you paid the monthly payments may still hold the details, so it maybe worthwhile you calling in if its local to you and ask them to check the files on your account.

Yes I did think of that, the a/c holding branch isnt too far from me, but I did ask advise at our local branch and they said that they wouldn't have it in branch as it was too long ago.

I think my concern is that i've read so much, & got all confused now about what forms I need to fill in and who to send them to! I'll write and request the copy of the original agreement, & see what they come back with, as I'm assuming that I'd need it anyway, so once I've got that do I just write & complain with maybe a template letter, or is there a sort of sequence of forms & letters to fill in?
Sorry to appear dim.....I'm not.....I'm just confused!!!! :o

Your doing a fine job :T;)

There used to be a template letter to make a reclaim, but now its a reclaim questionnaire, as on step 3 here.

Just a thought, but if you were still paying for the account over the last 6 years and do online banking, you could check this way, as this should allow you to go back to about 2002, so you should be able to at least and hopefully retrieve the loan account number.
This is normally shown next to the monthly repayment.

Going back to the reclaiming, complete the questionnaire as on the above link - step 3, send to the complaints dept or head office, and keep a copy for yourself as well, allow about 8 weeks, they should keep you informed and may ask for extra time.

Hope this helps, your doing ok, honestly.:);)

Thanks, I do still pay the monthly repayments as the card is still active - & as its very handy, I didn't want to jeopardise losing it which is why I'd not done anything about it yet. Am assuming the a/c number is my card number?
Don't do online banking.....struggle with technology!! Did try it once & got in such a muddle......not good! :-(

Arh right its a card and not a loan, my mistake and not yours lol :D;), no worries, I will just change the reclaiming link to the questionnaire of the credit card ppi, although its the same form I believe, but yes the account number should that on the card.;)

This would not be a bank statement matter then, so am glad you still have the card, that helps and yes I would still continue to make the payments every month.;)

Thanks Cappo (for the advice) & di3004 (for the email addresses). In answer to your question, my friend has a letter from the bank stating the refund was a gesture of goodwill. In a phone conversation with a rep from the bank, it was agreed to keep paying the orignal monthly amounts and the term would reduce. However, this isn't the case

Hi, just been reading through your posts. Take what Di says and question it all.

By the way, so everyone is clear on this, banks do not do "goodwill", they steal money, tell lies and when they are caught out use fragrant words like "goodwill"

The way it's all going means people no longer trust banks, the one thing about British people is that we come across as reserved !!!! ... so reserved that we could go back to keeping our money under the mattress, creating a grey market in money where the authorities have not a clue what is going on.

David Cameron has a duty to sort out these miserable banks once and for all

Totally unrelated question - how do you make the blue box with the quotes in?
