Hi, an interesting thread and certainly a huge can of worms but all relating back to HFC.
I personally would create a big work file on this and pass it to the press for investigation AND BBC Watchdog. Certainly this one for your local MP
In the meantime I would also voice your thoughts on the activities to the FOS, FSA and OFT

Di, gone are the days that we meager plebs have to accept this rubbish, with sites likes these, the word is out. Guarantee the banks etc watch this forum on a daily basis.

You now need to get very very tough and point a gun at their heads, it is the only thing these crooks understand. As we have freedom of speech in this country use it here to make your point, as you know I do.

My mother who is 85 and just as disgusted as we all are, said to me, in my day banks could be trusted and we never had these problems.

WRONG MOTHER, in your day it was just a "one to one" with the bank manager and you just accepted what he said not knowing he might be saying the same thing to thousands of others

NOW WE HAVE THE INTERNET AND A CURIOUS MEDIA
This is how the banks were exposed in the first place and for that, Martin has to be thanked. Even though the bank charges thing did not do Martin any good, we now have a different scenario but this time the banks lost hands down. We must all persue them very hard

I don't think that Stephen Hester will be around too long, not after admitting that taxpayers money "leaked" into his bonus culture.
THEFT -- FRAUD -- DECEIPT ... The new name for British Banks, and oh ye, Scottish ones as well

    Thank you Beamerguy.:T

    Your input is also appreciated.
And so damn right too, they have got away with it far too long now, its really time to get tough, I must agree with you, and I am considering those actions as you suggested as well, cheers.

My only hope is now, the adjudicator, he seems to be overlooking the case and not taking into account anything we said.

Your mother, is so right in her day, bless her too at 85. But these days its a different matter with them altogether.
    :);)

Well said, and I agree, because we are more informed we can exercise our rights.
I am surprised at some of the stories on this forum, and appalled at how banks have behaved to us, their customers.
With more exposure of their actions, and the heightened awareness of what has gone on we can hope that the judicial review was just a beginning in getting them to conduct themselves in a more ethical way, and start by giving back the money they have taken by mis selling..( which amounts to lying at best, extortion at worst)

Thanks Di, but you know, you are one person who needs to get tough, and we are all here to help, you know, even though I have not told these con banks my user name here, by god they actually know who it is don't they. This just one of my voices on the internet and my voice will get louder and louder the more they ignore me.

In the area I live, about 20 years, a guy was getting very upset with Barclays Bank, cannot remember what for.

They would not listen to him and so he had printed up a lot of A4 size cards that simply said
" BARCLAYS BANK IS OUT OF ORDER"

He then went around all the Barclays ATM's in the area and stuck it over the screen.

Needless to say, Barclays listened to him and gave him compensation.

Banks do not like to be exposed in such a way, food for thought though

Hi first time using this site and not really sure what I'm doing. Hopefully all will be able to see this. I've had a credit card with Capital One for the last 8 years. I have PPI on the card, but it was one that was sent to me as junk mail through the post. I completed the form and he ho was accepted. Didnt think I would be. I think I ticked the box for PPI cover (mainly because I didnt think I would be accepted if I didnt). Whats the chances of my claim being upheld. I didnt know there would be exclusions.
    Thanks

Depends on what reasons for a misale you've got, were you self employed had medical conditions etc, when you activated your card did you talk to anyone on the phone re the importance of having the ppi etc. As this will turn a non advised sale into an advised sale which could well make a bit of difference.
