Just wanted to repose my message in this thread as think it got lost in another post I started
Hi everyone
Looking for advice please. Just been sorting through my banking files and have found a credit agreement for a loan and 3 credit cards that i was paying PPI on all of them.
I have no paperwork that shows i provided a second signature to approve the PPI as i wasnt even aware i was paying them.
The companies are Abbeyloan- took the loan out in 2000 which was meant to be for 5 years but have been paying off slower on my DMP (PPI £32 a month)
MBNA- also paying off on DMP (PPI £66 a month)
Capital One Europe- also paying off on DMP (PPI £22 a month)
Egg Card - also on DMP
Not sure if i can claim back for any of these or where to start doing so
Advice would be great, thanks!Hoping that can get some refunds that will go directly to my DMP.
Also one more point. If a cc account is still active but had been paying ppi since before 2005 can this still be claimed for or only past 6 years??0 -

I am so frustrated with RBS!! Like many others i've been waiting since October 2010 and every week I ring their answers change. Last week I was told they were waiting for direction off their Legal Team on how to proceed with claims, (which totally contradicts a letter they sent to me in mid May). Today i've been told they have started to look at claims, they're currently up to July apparently? I asked for an approximate timescale of when they may even consider mine but all she could say was 'a while'.....I was contemplating emailing the CEO but even that doesn't look like it will help. I've not heard of anybody having any recent success with RBS....I wonder if I should write to them telling them everyday they stall with my complaint I am going to charge them £x per day interest and distress!?0 -

The second e-mail has at least prompted a response:

Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering if I would be eligible for any money back re PPI. But my problem is that I have NO paperwork whatso ever and have no idea who I was paying it to. Can I go to Experian etc and ask for a credit report and will it be listed on there? If not, how else can I find out?
What is the last date to claim?
Thank you all0 -
Hi there, you could get credit report and that may tell you.
At the moment there is no "last date", i bet the banks are wishing there was though:rotfl:0 -
Hi again all,
As already posted I've started the ball rolling reclaiming PPI for a loan with HSBC (which has 5 months of 60 left to go). And although there is no real news or progress (other than my issues are "being dealt with"), I am concerned that my loan repayment has not been taken from my account today (which up til now has always been the case). Could the fact that I'm attempting to reclaim the PPI (and therefore would possibly have reduced loan repayments) be anything to do with it?
Any ideas would be great.:)0 -

Hi there
I would make a reclaim if mis sold ppi no matter how old, give it a go anyway.
You can try as amersall also suggested try to get hold of a credit report, this should hold details of all accounts still active the last 6 years, google in Equifax or Experian, some offer for free for 30 days or you pay £2.
If any are with your bank, call in and speak to the branch manager, they should check all accounts taken out with them, even loans from other companies, they should check statements for you, or if you bank online where the loan repayments came out of each month, statements online may allow you to go back to 2002.
Loan acc numbers are normally shown next to the loan monthly repayment.
If any of the accounts are still active you can write to request for a copy of the loan and or credit card agreement, these cost £1 each, so you would enclose £1 cheque or postal order payment and ask them to provide this by 12 days. If no account no to give, then give them as many details as you know possible.
The other way which is optional as well is to request a Subject Access Request, if you had so many accounts with the same business, then one SAR with one payment of £10 cheque or postal order is sufficient. They have 40 calendar days to comply.
SAR letter template here.

Hi Di3004 and anyone who has dealt with Halifax PPI. I am claiming 3 PPI's - two loans and credit card from Halifax. I phoned them on Tuesday, 30th May, 2011, the guy I talked to, told me that they have a backlog and that my case is being investigated and he does not know when they will respond. I did just as Martin asked us to do through Watchdog on BBC1 to call the banks. So my question is, if they tell you they are investigating and they are not giving time when they are going to finalise the case. I wrote to them in January 2011 and they wrote back to say that they are waiting for the Judicial Review, so I did remind them about this and the guy all he could say was he understands and that they are doing everything they can to process everyone's complaint. I do not know what to do next. Any ideas?0

Hello there
Yes you can request a credit report, google in Equifax or Experian, some offer them free for 30 days or you pay £2. They should hold details of the last 6 years. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
