    Dear Michelle

No I have not blocked your email address. I have been trying to send emails but they keep getting returned as undeliverable… Technology is not my strong point so I’m not sure what the problem is. Hopefully its now resolved.

Unfortunately I do not know why Your Credit Matters/Simms Carmichael sent the original complaint to HSBC when your documents clearly show the loan with HFC. As the old company is no longer trading I will not be able to find out the answer.

The document I sent to you to be signed was a Letter of Authority which will enable me to communicate with HFC. To explain the complaint procedure, we firstly have to have a signed Letter of Authority. On receipt we will write to the lender. We then have to allow the lender to acknowledge our complaint and advise that they will be investigating. This usually takes about 7 working days. From the date of acknowledgement we have to allow the lender 8 weeks to do their investigation. These are the guidelines set by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). It does not always take the full 8 weeks to get a response but in some cases it takes longer in which case we do have the right to refer your case to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

In October 2010, the majority of lenders made a case to the High Court as they do not feel they should pay back insurance sold to customers. The court has voted in favour of the consumer however we now have to wait for the lenders to see if they will appeal. Due to this a high volume of cases have been put on hold. This may affect the way & timescale it takes for your complaint to be investigated.

I hope this answers your questions.

    Kind Regards

  • Hi,

I've just come across this PPI - As I dont have a clue about it and you experts will no doubt advise me (if you will)

I took a loan out approx 4 years ago and also had the Protection Cover to go with it. I've been up to date, on time with all of the re-payments.

Now I've been reading in the newsletter that I may be entitled to a claim to get the Protection Cover back? Is this true?

    Thanks

Hi there, look here for reasons for mis sell
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#checklist
You need to have valid reasons for mis sell, if any/all apply to you then you can put a complaint in.
If you can put a complaint in with the reasons you have, you will get all the help you need on this site.

    Hiya

The awaiting on the decision of an appeal the JR judgement is holding this back.
Mine is the same too and have been with the bank since before Christmas 2010.
The BBA/Banks only have until next Tuesday 10 May 2011 to decide on an appeal as they were given 21 days as from the judgement date of 20 April 2011.
I know how frustrating this is, but sit back and hopefully we will hear a decision on this soon.
If they are denied an appeal, then its a case of banks etc getting on with these complaints, but other than that unfortunately if they did manage to get an appeal it will take a little longer - waiting for an appeal date which may unfortunately be a few months.

However, the FSA and the FOS I believe are in talks - for banks to continue to investigate complaints despite the awaiting on an appeal.

Please keep us posted hun, and the best of luck.;)

    Hello all,

very new to all of this, so please bare with me if i repeat alot of info already posted.

I have had a few loans over the years for mainly new cars etc.

I have only just read and found out the mis-selling of ppi & feel very much a victim.

Long story short, I need help & where go I start.

I had 2 Loans with Egg (1999(£15k, over 60mths, paid off early 2001) & 2002(18K, 60mths, full term paid off 2007) I phoned Egg and got the account numbers for both, logged the complaint, got a form to fill out, done (help of reading this forum, thanks) and posted back today, awaiting reply.

Then I have had 3-4 loans with lloyds tsb dating from 1996-2001 trouble is like the Egg Loans ive no account number or paperwork as once paid off the shredder was welcome to the paper work, I know is very wreckless but i was in my teens
and had no importance of these things.

Ive phoned Lloyds tsb, whom i bank with still and they cant find any information or account numbers, so I need help on how best to find this information out please. The loans were all arranged in my local branch for 2x £5000 1x £13000 & 1x £10000
I have no other information on any of these but never missed a payment and all paid back in full. I know i had ppi on all of these as i was told due to my age and amounts loaned i needed it to be granted the loans. I also at the time of my first loan
was forced to take out lloyds tsb accident & umempolyment insurance not related to any of the loans which i still have today
aswell for so called added protetion and to show I was a responsable loaner! I also had a competative sick pay scheme at work etc so not only do i feel mis-sold but right royally stitched up! I was young and would have bought, signed anything that ment getting that shiny new car lol How things change!

So any help on any of this would be oh so welcome!

Thank you in advance (sorry my spelling is as rubbish as my ppi loan agreements)

You could try asking for all data they hold on you,if you had a different address when these loans were taken out then put that also.
This is called a SAR, for this a £10 charge is payable that you can include with your letter.
They may still not have this info, but you can try.
When were these loans settled, do you have any info (bank statement cheque stub etc) that you may have? as i won 3 loans with just the settlement figures.
This is a long shot i know, but maybe worth a try.

    Hi The Marksman

As amersall says you could request a SAR in hope you receive data going back earlier than 6 years.
When I requested data through a SAR (Subject access Request) I received data going back earlier than the last 6 year, so they may find them on microfiche and must comply with the Data protection Act (DPA) to send all they still hold on your account(s).

There is a template letter (SAR) on link below.
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

    Lloyds data dept address is.

    LLOYDS TSB BANK PLC
    DSAR TEAM
    CUSTOMER SERVICES
    RECOVERY TEAM
    CHARLTON PLACE C57
    ANDOVER
    HAMPSHIRE
    SP10 1RE

    And to make a reclaim to Lloyds is;

    Lloyds PPI
    Customer Care
    Lloyds TSB Insurance
    Tredegar Park
    Newport
    South Wales
    NP10 8SB

Hope this helps, please keep us posted and good luck.
