hi there i have just been looking through old threads and noticed in october 2008 the fos were treating complaints against first plus as a whole, the user thought they may be going into liquidation or something? i have a complaint in with fp and when you telephone them they say thank you for calling uk secured lending!not thank you for calling first plus! something odd there i think. does anyone know why!!
Are you calling the correct number. Incipience on here has a big problem with them and has not said anything on here. I will try myself tomorrow...

I had a phone call today informing me my complaint against lloyds tsb has been passed to an adjudicator.Has anyone any idea how long it normally takes to get sorted now this has moved on.Thank you in advance jo x

    Hello

This can vary, when I first received a phone call from the Adjudicator, he told me he should hear something in a fortnight from him, this had went on longer as Lloyds wanted more time to get the information together.

Hopefully it will be quicker for you, but with mine Lloyds did not agree to uphold the complaint, where this is now moved over the the ombudsman himself, or the adjudicator that works closely with the ombudsman.

I wish you luck, you can email or ring them now and again just to see how its going if you think you have been waiting too long to hear.;)

amersall. Uk secured lending is to do with Barclaycard

Radley has been appointed Managing Director of UK Secured Lending (Barclaycard) which encompasses FIRSTPLUS – the UK’s leading prime secured lender, and its sister company Broker Ridge. (old story though and not from today!!!!)

I wrote to egg to complain about the repayment protection they've been charging me. Got the following reply...

As you're possibly aware Egg was fined due to the way PPI was sold during a certain period of time to certain customers.

Egg has identified these customers' accounts and they've been contacted.

You applied for the Egg Card in January of 2004 over the phone, unfortunately you do not fall in the time band of when the protection was sold incorrectly for an investigation to be done.

The FSA have ruled that the Policy's sold between 14 January 2004-17 December 2008 we possibly sold incorrectly.

For this reason you're not affected and we wont be able to refund an payment already made.

Should you need to contact me again, please feel free.

Am I to presume that because I was sold the policy during the first two weeks of January I wasn't mis-sold the insurance? Surely these are the very same salepersons that were doing the same job two weeks later. Sent them leeter two, threatening the FOS.

Egg are a joke! Any advice from people on what they would do.

I've got probs too with Egg. They've even written to me telling me that the medical letter I sent in proves that I would not have been able to make a claim under the policy as I had a pre-existing medical condition. So, you would think they would pay out then...........................NOPE! "Yeah you're policy is crap.................tough".

Another angle is whether ot not Egg have enforceable credit agreements and whether they have acted lawfully in terminating agreements. Some good deabtes about this over on CAG. How can they terminate agreements but still send details to 3rd party credit reference agencies? Either the contract is terminated and contractually all obligations cease or they don't  The question has to be asked!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

My Sainsburys case has been with them for about 3 weeks now (at the Adjudictor stage). They called me about 3 weeks ago to say that my complaint has been split into 2 parts - one to deal with the PPI issue and the other to deal with credit agreement and harrassment issues.

Last correspondence I had sounds like yours - the'll be asking the business for more information (bla bla......colleague will write to you within two months.......bla bla.......)
