hi thanks for all your help I suppose I have been one of the lucky ones it just goes to show that with the help of valued contributors to the web site you can take them on and win, you gave me the confidence to do so and I cant thank you enough, my wife is disabled and the news from the letter yesterday was one big boost to her it lifted her up on one of her many bad days.
Once again thank you very much for the assistance in helping me win my claim.
Bob
Your VERY welcome Bob, so happy to hear your result of this, good for both of you.:A:beer:, again well done! xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi di3004
I have just received a reply from my initial letter complaining about missold PPI and they write I quote "I have completed my investigation into your complaint, reviewed any records relating to the sale of your protection policy and have taken into account your complaint points and the comments noting your circumstances at the time of the sale.
I have decided to uphold your complaint and offer to settle your complaint in the following manner. I propose to:
Put you back to the same position you would have been in, had the single premium PPI not been sold to you.
Once the legal proceedings have been resolved with the FSA and the FOS we will consider whether they have affected the way that your refund should be calculated".
It then goes on to state that if I am unhappy with the way the proposed solution is arrived at I can complain to the FOS.
Does this mean that I have won or do I need to take this up with the FOS. The reply took a total of 9 weeks to arrive with one letter interim informing me they had received my complaint.
Congraulations.:T:T
Lets hope you dont have to wait too long. Well done.:DFootiemad:footie: 2013 - SPC no.1147...Keeep potting!!

Hi and welcome
The answer is yes, I have successfully make reclaims via lloyds from 2001 onwards, so if you have the account number and your reasons for being mis sold, then go for it.
I am however currently dealing with even older reclaims with them, my last two I came across later on after being successful with the others.
Just either write a letter in your own words to make a reclaim, or complete and send them the reclam questionnaire that replaced the template letter on this site.
Keep copies of what you send and receive in case you need to refer back to this again at some point.
They have 8 weeks to give a decision, but may write to ask for more time.
The questionnaire if you want to do it this way is here stage one of reclaiming.

I have a loan with Northern Rock for which I have filled in the form from these forums, this is not the problem. I have also found documents relating to 2 different loans with the Abbey from 2003 and 2004 and also documents to a credit agreement for First National which I think is now part of Santander from 2002.
Firstly can I claim on thses as I have the documentation and secondly if i can claim do i just send a letter or fill in one of the consumer questionaire forms
The other one that my wife has is still ongoing with Santander which is a store card, She never asked for the protection to be included. Should she cancel the protection and then raise the claim.
Thanks hopefully
After I posted about the replies we received regarding the store card and the loan from Northern Rock we got a reply from Santander regarding the 2 loans that my wife had. The reply is as follows
" having concidered the information available to me I am unable to establish that you were provided with sufficent details to be able to make an informed decision when buying this policy. I would there fore like to offer you a total of £638.77 as a refund with interest, of all the premiums you have paid for the insurance element of your loans and the impact it may have had on any refinanced loans."
It does go on to say that the interest is calculated at a rate of 8% simple per annum which is consistent with t he approch the FSA and FSO would take.
They have provided a breakdown of the payments made and the interest and that if I am not happy I can go to the FSO. We have 28 days to accept and it is a full and final offer.
I would just like to know from people's experiance do we take the offer or go to the FSO.
The quick reply from Santander did take us by suprise as we only wrote a couple of weeks ago
We still have a couple of others on the go ,but is thanks to people on this forum for the help along the way.0 -

Hi there
And well done that is fab!
If your not happy with the offer you can if you want to make a complaint to the FOS, but please be aware this may take some time, at the moment about 6 to 18 months due to the volume of these complaints.
However, do you know if this is what you have paid into the account of PPI?
If the amount stated is what you have paid into the account then they are then offering you all the premiums of ppi you have paid, plus interest.
Hope this helps and good luck on the other reclaims.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Afternoon all ,
I put a claim in with the Yorkshire bank on the 11th Oct 2010. I filled out the questionnaire, and sent it off, I have had a couple of response letters saying that they are still investigating, but then I started to e-mail them from Jan 2011 and every e-mail I get back says:
I can confirm that this case is still to be looked at by a customer Associate. Once this has been done the file will then be passed to a customer Handler who will be in touch with your office and the customer with their decision. We are working in strict date order and as such I cannot give out any expectant timescales. We will be in within the coming weeks
Thank You
I am getting really frustated with this and I know I should be patient, but when I put my claim in with the RBS at least they told me what month they were up to !!!! I have also got a claim with the FO from Studio cards and that has been going nearly two years and I have heard nothing from that either. what should I do go the the FO ???? Yorkshire bank haven't given me a final response, or should I start to ring them ??? I am no sure what to do about the FO one either any advice is really welcomeoh and does anyone have the e-mail address for the CEO at the yorkshire bank I would like to give him a peice of my mind
Thanks all0 -

I take it the offer is only for the one loan?, please post up the breakdown they gave you and someone who is good with figures will help you with this.I would think if they have given you a breakdown of the figures with the 8% then they may have given you full redress.0 -
