This is my 1st post so apologies if this has already been covered…..
I have just been sorting through some old paper work due to a house sale and found
An old finance agreement from Black Horse Finance from an old secured loan that ended in 2006.
Looking at it I have not signed for the PPI, but when I have looked at the form there is a section called Key Financial Information where they have added an amount per month to my agreement. There is also a sheet attached saying I would like them to take over payments if I become unemployed of sick, which makes me think it is PPI?
Does anyone know if this entitles me to make a claim?:(

    Hi and welcome

Are you saying your paying for the PPI even though you did not request for it?

In this case, I believe you have a case, and should try to make a reclaim.

Is there any other paperwork you may have lying around where it may show ppi was payable on your loan?
You could contact the business and ask them if you want to first.

To make a reclaim, you can either write a letter in your own words, because on this site the template letter was replaced by a reclaim questionnaire, as shown on stage one on the link below.
    Or use the questionnaire.

Keep copies of what you send and receive in case you need to refer to the case again at some point.
They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, but should write to keep you informed.

    Hope this helps.

Also to add, if you do not have any other paperwork on the loan, you do have the right to request for a subject access request (SAR).
This is optional of course, but if you want to request for your paperwork on the loan, the link below is the template letter, tweak to your requirements, and enclose £10 cheque or postal order, they have 40 calendar days to comply.

    Good luck.

  • It doesn't say i have paid for PPI there are no figures in the PPI section but there is a different section that is headed Key Financial Information? am at a bit of a loss really i looks like they have charged me for PPI but its not been listed as PPI on the finance agreement? the additional paperwork that is with the finance does state that i wish them to take over the payments if i become unemployed or sick which to me sound very much like a PPI.
    Thanks for the advice.

    Hiya

    And your welcome,

Yes it does seem that way.

I would either contact them or request a SAR, any details of any ppi should be enclosed in the paperwork, or maybe when you settled the loan it may show in the breakdown of the calculations on settlement.

Hi finally received reply from barclays about my ppi claim. Im not sure how to proceed. They acknowledge my complain but are waiting for the Court to provide clarification. They also say if i`m unhaappy with the respond i can now ask FOS to review my complaint. Could someone confirm if this is the next step for me?

    Hi there

This seems to be the norm at the moment, but with mine in regards of Lloyds I am sitting back just an extra few weeks to see if anything happens, but you do have the option of the FOS if you want to, do what you feel is best for you, but please be aware the FOS are taking anything from 6 - 18 months due to high volumes of complaints.

    Good luck.

  • Thank you Di. If you are waiting for a few more weeks do you still have to complete your complain within 8 weeks?

    Hiya

    Your welcome

The normal timescale is that of 8 weeks.

Because of the Judicial Review matter that is currently ongoing this may take some time yet to complete, but the banks involved are sending out letters to give the option of going to the FOS if you don't want to wait for the outcome of the judical review.

  • Ok, so much to read which I will tomorrow. Thank again for your help. I'm off to bed now. :o
  • Hi
after reading all this I have decided to look at the loan I use to have with Black Horse.
What a surprise I had an insurance and I don t remember taking that.I was quite desperate at that time.
I have written to them and they reply telling me that they are looking into it.After one week they wrote again same letter.
I phoned yesterday and they told me that the case is still in court so they don t know what s happening and everything is on hold.
    What shall I do now?
are they telling me porky s .
Thank you to anybody which will read and help
