Yeah I thought that also. The FOS have upheld in my favour, but NatWest dont agree. It has been passed up to the Chief Ombudsman. Might ask me for a reimbursement or bill NatWest. I expect they will get it back somehow

Goodness knows then, I know if the case when to the Ombudsman himself, they have to go along with the decision, more so that that of the adjudicators decision.
They should not ask you to return it back to them though, this should be sorted amongst themselves.

Please do you think you could post up the letter you received yesterday word to word from the FOS? (minus your personal details of course lol).
(If you have time to do this). Thanks.

This may also be a help to others as well, cheers for that.;)

    Hi Di

Yup, headed cheque with FOS logo top right, using Lloyds bank interestingly....

That is interesting. I have a claim being looked at by them at the moment and they have had it for 17 months now:eek: Would rather have the decision on my claim as I am sure you would. But nice all the same.;)

In this time of osterity, not sure the FOS should be handing out cheques, it is after all yet more tax payers money.

It's not tax payers money - the FOS is funded entirely by the financial services industry, both directly and through the FSA. So I trust that makes you feel better about accepting it.

I'd be interested to see the accompanying letter when you post it up.

I dont feel too bad about cashing it now! Half contemplated returning it.

I thought the FOS was enacted by Parliament and therfore the taxpayer, so its nice to be corrected so I can get my fact right in the future.
