Also finally received my SAR info from Amex today (half the rain forrest has been used to produce it - it included the last 10 years statements) what I find strange is that they only have records of telephone calls for the last year...is this normal?
I have been with them 15 years and have spoken to them on a number of occassions about various things but none of these are detailed in the report.
They also do not include copies of all the letters that I have sent to them over the years- which I find strange and TBH devious or I am just becoming more cynical?

In a seperate envolpe I received a letter from them saying that I was not mis sold ppi as I had requested via my postal application.
They do not mention that I contacted them to discuss it at the time - which I had hoped the SAR info would prove.

They just do not accept anything that is said to them - hoping, I guess, that I will go away.

Well I am - to the FOS, to see what they have to say.

My question is - when approaching FOS do I simply fill in the PPI reclaim form and attach a covering letter breifly detailing why I am complaing to them, or do I need to attach all correspondence to Amex & myself to date including the SAR info?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Matty

I did not receive all recordings of telephone calls either, yet it seemed with mine they picked and chose what they wanted to keep and delete, it could be me being cynical here.

Now to complain to the FOS they have their very own complaints form here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/form/complaint_form.doc

    From their website here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

I would therefore enclose copies of the letters you received, and only write a letter to enclose if you have further information to give, and provide copies of any letters etc you sent to the bank as well.

    Good luck.

Well that is one you could try for, if its difficult in retrieving any account numbers, then write to them anyway, see what they come back with, they will confirm either way I'm sure.

Have you actually tried calling into the branch to ask them direct?;)X

They have closed all local branches of halifax and barclays ant go back any further than a few months?!? madness. Might just send them all a letter all they can say is no?!?

Thanks di ... hope ur getting paid for this x

If you start a thread here and mention Mortgage PPI on it then I am sure Dunstonh (who answers most queries on MPPI) may be able to direct you further.
