I lodged complaint with Lloyds in August - got letter saying they would uphold - enclosing acceptance forms - which i duly completed and returned - on the 06 September i received text message that they had received my acceptance form are processing our request and that they will send updates.

Heard nothing - today is the 28th working day after they received the acceptance forms
I sent e-mail got an e-mail back to phone in
I phoned in - well what a saga
"You havent returned the acceptance forms" so we cant calculate your refund - I challenged - I have a text sir - i havent deleted it - "Oh yes we have it but one" no sir i sent two in the same envelope - let me look - puts me on hold - comes back - "So Sorry" we have both but have you heard about us challenging - you will receive a letter from our legal department within 5 to 7 days telling you of the situation.

I challenged - How can you hold back on settling when you have in writing upheld the complaint - "We are not following FSA guidelines" in respect of the time-scales - not saying you wont get paid - just not now..

    ???

    Hi there

Right what I would do is contact the FSA on this, cos I expect you have heard they have frozen "new complaints"? this should not actually include complaints that have been resolved and dealt with with offers, so contact the fsa for some advice.

Google in FSA contact, and the details should come up, please let us know how you get on, thanks.

I brought a car in 2003 with PPI, I just wondered if I would still be able to claim as my finance was over 5 years and finished in 2008. My finance was with GMAC, does anyone know if they were FSA regulated? Also where I work I get 6 months full pay and 6 months half if I ever went off sick. I never got asked this at the time of buying my car so would this count as being missold?

Just wanted a bit of help before I sent my letter off and to make sure my facts are correct.
    Thanks :-)

    Hi there

I am not sure if these were governed by the FSA or prior to them GISC regulated, but for your reasons you have, you could still give it a go, complete the reclaim questionnaire to the ones who set this up and sold the policy here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim
This replaced the reclaim template letter, they have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time, any problem and they confirm they were not regulated by the above stated, still contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) who will possibly suggest another avenue, like they have with some of us on here, mainly the underwriter/insurer who would have been regulated.

    Good luck.

    Hi All,
    Just looking for some advice.
Hsbc have been dealing with our complaint regarding PPI on two personal loans for the last 7 weeks, Upon hearing that the banks are putting claims on hold we thought we would give them a ring to clarify the situation with our claim.

We were claiming on the basis that PPi would not pay out due to serious pre existing medical condition.

Upon telephoning this morning HSBC have today said that our claim is on hold pending the court action. This is despite them having informed us 3 weeks ago that they were currently reviewing the paperwork for the loans and would hope to be providing us with an answer by Oct 19th. Does anybody know whst we should do from here? It was my understanding that the holds put in claims were for new claims only, not ones that they have been "reviewing" for 7 weeks.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thankyou in advance .:)

    Hi and welcome

As you may have noticed by now, this site have been very busy with everyone asking the same sort of thing.
And I can understand how frustrating this must be for you and others in the same position as yourself here.

It was originally that of just new cases only, which should not have included settled or ongoing cases, but I would contact the FSA if you get round to it tomorrow.
Good luck, please keep us posted.;)

    Hi and welcome

Do you mean they rebated the amount of £378.41 when you taken out a further loan? Not actually refunded it?
Sorry if I have mis read.

But if you believe you were mis sold, you can of course make a reclaim with your reasons, do check the link below of the checklist reasons and check if any of them also apply to you.
If there were 2 loan ppi you were mis sold on you can reclaim on both, its not too late at all, as long as you have the account numbers, then go for it.

If there are separate reclaims, you can use the same reclaim questionnaire or separate, just as long as you enclose your account numbers.

They normally have 8 weeks, but they may ask for more time, there are backlogs as well, due to high volumes of these complaints.

    Good luck with this.

    Hi di3004,

I stand to be corrected the bank actually rebated me not refunded, thanks for the correction and many many thanks for your advice and the links you've sent me :).

Hmmm.... I have to edit your message as it won't allow me to reply with the links.

  • Hi Folks i'm kinda new to all of this, and i'm sure this has been asked a few times before but:

How long should it take until you get an answer one way or the other ?

I'm deling with a company called Payment Protection Partnership (PPP), they have been dealing with my case since 23rd Nov last year, i think they're taking advantage of my good nature here.

Any advice would be greatly recieved and appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Wullie.

    Hi and welcome

    Are they a claims company?
I am not too sure to be honest, but I do know lots on here have had hassle using claims companies and we do not recommend them to anyone.

A normal case though takes 8 weeks, keep chasing them up, any further probs, please post back to let us know, thanks.
