Applecider wrote: »Di - or anyone else out there willing to help, I have had all my statements from halifax and barclays. Barclays being the best putting all the reference numbers etc so I now have my egg card number etc, one problem was that I had a loan from barclays think it was a gradualate loan but it was taken from my money at halifax whose statements are just say DD ATM and the amount and do not put the reference numbers! Wat do you suggest. I also have no idea if I was mis-sold on my egg card/capital one/barclaycard and the others, how could I find this out or is it just worth me sending a letter telling them I want to claim? cheers, x
Hiya
Well that is one you could try for, if its difficult in retrieving any account numbers, then write to them anyway, see what they come back with, they will confirm either way I'm sure.
Have you actually tried calling into the branch to ask them direct?;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi and welcome.
You always pursue the ones who arranged and set up the policies.
By completing a reclaiming questionnaire here:
You can track down loan account numbers from banking statements, where the monthly repayments were made, the acc number should be shown next to them.
If you do online banking, this should allow you to go back up to about 7 years online.
Just as long as you have an account number and you know you were sold and mis sold the ppi for any reason, there is not really any need unless you do actually want these, you can continue to make a reclaim. *dont understand the above, what ive underlined
Remember to keep all copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to them at some point, such as complain to the Financial ombudsman service.
Good luck with this.
thanks for your advice,
however im still a bit confused...
-do i need to send the questionaire to each and every company??
-what letter do i send to G.Emoney?? as i already have the info of the loan, agreement no and date ect,
*and please correct me if im wrong, but am i right in thinking i send the questionaire AND letter requesting the terms of the areement to the companies where i DONT have the agreement number ect*
sorry if i seem a bit thick! i do appreciate your help and advice x0 -

Hiya
first of all your certainly not thick lol X
You do not have to use the template letter to ask for any details of your loan if you don't want to, but if you do require this as you require the account number details, you can write a simple letter and request for the loan agreement enclose £1 cheque or postal order and ask they supply by 12-14 days, and give them as many personal details as possible, full name, any name changes since taking out the finance, addresses and so on, also your date of birth.
If the accounts are with the same companies and are all loan ppi, you can keep to the same questionnaire, and apply each account number for all once you know them.
Separate for credit card ppi.
And separate if mis selling reasons were not the same, and again separate for each different company.
Hope this helps, but just as long as you can get hold of the account numbers, you can continue to make your reclaims.;)
Have you checked old banking statements for your account numbers?
They are normally shown next to the loan monthly repayment made each month, and if you bank online this should allow you to go back up to about 7 years online.
Hope this helps XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
yea that helps, thank you.
so what ive done is- called G.Emoney as i had the agreement no and requested a copy of the t & c's and agreement, which they are going to send me. so once i have that do i just write to them requesting a refund of the miss sold ppi??
what do i need to include in the letter?? are there any templates for that (im not very good at writing asking for money)?
with regards to the other other seperate company's where i DONT have any details ill write a letter asking for the same or do i need to send the 'SAR' letter to them with a copy of the questionaire (as i dont have the agreement no)??
im giving myself a headache here! lol x0 -

Hiya, now you've got it.;)
That is correct, by just having the account number you can make your reclaim and if your aware ppi was added, and of course you have reasons to make a reclaim.
If you want to write a letter of reclaim, you can do this alongside with completing the reclaim questionnaire as shown on stage one of reclaiming, ( FOS questionnaire) this is what you complete to send to whoever mis sold and sold you the policy.
Or just use the questionnaire without a letter.
If you want to write a letter instead, the template was actually replaced by the questionnaire, but just write to them by giving them your account details.
Then explain you believe you were mis sold the Payment Protection Insurance.
Give your reasons.
Ask that they comply by 8 weeks.
Then finally confirm if you do not hear anything or receive a favourable decision, you will make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman service (FOS).
Questionnaire here:

Remember though to keep copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to them at some point, or complain to the FOS.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Sammy, even though the reclaim template letter is replaced by a questionnaire on this site, i did save a template letter from another site a while ago, but its always best to write in your own words if you can, but no harm in using the below template as a guide.;)

LOL........:D:T
I believe there have been a few having these problems.
You could try if from over the FOS website, shown further down the page as Payment Protection Insurance questionnaire, if your still having problems, contact the FOS and make them aware, and tell them you want to make a reclaim but having problems with downloading the questionnaire for PPI, and ask if they could send a few in the post. (make sure they send the correct reclaiming one).

Hi Davie
Well done!
They will or should not hold back on paying this out to you, the hold backs are only those of new complaints.
Give them a ring and ask them of when you should be expecting your refund, they should be able to confirm.
Good luck.
Di
I lodged complaint with Lloyds in August - got letter saying they would uphold - enclosing acceptance forms - which i duly completed and returned - on the 06 September i received text message that they had received my acceptance form are processing our request and that they will send updates.
Heard nothing - today is the 28th working day after they received the acceptance forms
I sent e-mail got an e-mail back to phone in
I phoned in - well what a saga
"You havent returned the acceptance forms" so we cant calculate your refund - I challenged - I have a text sir - i havent deleted it - "Oh yes we have it but one" no sir i sent two in the same envelope - let me look - puts me on hold - comes back - "So Sorry" we have both but have you heard about us challenging - you will receive a letter from our legal department within 5 to 7 days telling you of the situation.
I challenged - How can you hold back on settling when you have in writing upheld the complaint - "We are not following FSA guidelines" in respect of the time-scales - not saying you wont get paid - just not now..

I brought a car in 2003 with PPI, I just wondered if I would still be able to claim as my finance was over 5 years and finished in 2008. My finance was with GMAC, does anyone know if they were FSA regulated? Also where I work I get 6 months full pay and 6 months half if I ever went off sick. I never got asked this at the time of buying my car so would this count as being missold?
Just wanted a bit of help before I sent my letter off and to make sure my facts are correct.
Thanks :-)0
