    Hi
I have had a questionaire to fill in from B/Card - & I am struggling with one of the questions - when did I open the account / take out the insurance?
It is a very long standing account and I have statements going back for the last 10 years, but am 'sure' I opened this account much before this maybe late eighties / early nineties.
Is there anyway of finding this out?
I have CCA'd em and they did not send me a copy of the original agreement / application form.(The T&C's they sent me back were dated 85 & 91)
I have also checked my credit file and the account doesnt show up on there (equifax / credit search).
Not got time to SAR them as there is a time limit on way they want the form returning.....
Any ideas anyone / does it really matter anyway?

Can anyone tell me if Capital Bank (Bank Of Scotland group) are freezing claims? I know BOS is now owned by LLoyds but not sure if this means yes?
Also a friend has an RBS reclaim with FOS. Anyone know roughly how long this may take?
    Thanks guys;)

Hi there, i would just put that you are not sure but it was in the late 80s early 90s. I have done barclays questionnaires and i put not known for questions i was not sure about, i am sure that will be fine as they can check your account from the account number.x

It is also a good thing that you have 10 years of statements as they have to pay you that much back at least x

Hi Matty I agree with what amersall says here, so at least you still have the details, however what you could do is enclose "copies" only not the originals, they have no excuse then have they?;)

    Hi Shamrock

I will try to double check on this, but with these also being grouped with Lloyds bank I assume it would be the same as them, but you could ring them to make sure if you want to, they must confirm this to you.

Does BOS have an automated phone message, wonder if its worth ringing the dept you need to speak too and if any automated messages in regards of frozen ppi will be left?
    Just a thought.;)

    Hi Kathryn & welcome

The only way is really to request a Subject access request (SAR), they have 40 days to comply and send all they hold on the account.
Normally they enclose data going back as far as the last 6 years, so hopefully you should receive details of any insurance taken.

However, for a SAR request you have to enclose £10 cheque or postal order.
There is a full letter template (SAR) below.....

Or maybe give it a chance by ringing them and ask them, they may provide the details over the phone, just to let you know if you taken out insurance.

If you do not have the account number, then give them as many details as you can, full name, addresses you lived whilst you had that account open, your date of birth, any different surnames and so on.

    Hope this helps.;)

    Good luck x
