PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hiya
With Lloyds, I am surprised if they still don't hold any details on your account really, many have received data when requesting a SAR going back to even earlier than 6 years (even though the last 6 years is normally what they go up to).
My hubby requested a SAR earlier this year and received info going back even from the late 90's.
So if you have not requested a SAR from LLoyds it may be a good idea to do so and not only they - if they are unable to supply the data, they must return the payment of £10 cheque/postal order back to you with a letter to explain.
With the others, I would write to the ones who set this up in the first place and they will then forward on to the company they moved to (data dept). This is what they normally do anyway, but if you can post by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting, this way you will know they received your letters by checking them out with the #Royal Mail - Track and Trace#.;)
Hi Di
I've just been on the phone to Lloyds gave me a number for Goldfish insurance....they werent that helpful or was unable to help. They were underwriters (St Andrews Group)for their PPI and had my details but not financial details. (At least I found out I paid PPI). I was told by St Andrews were unable to give me further contact details because they have not worked with goldfish in a long time.
Called Lloyds again, they did a computer search, found my details, but nothing relating to a loan....which I was quite surprised, because I have never had an account or card with Lloyds other than the Goldfish loan so why would they have my details?
I was told my the lady that goldfish loan was sold to several companies, and unfortunately they will not be able to inform me where my loan went to. All Lloyds TSB loan starts with 100....
This is getting a bit frustrustrating, when potentially I have 2 years of premium plus interest to claim, but dont know where to start.0 -

I think I will do the SAR thing...then maybe I can get my lead of what to do next when they reply.0 -

Hi
Yes maybe a SAR would then be a good idea, but what you could do is contact the FOS as a general query, tell them you don't know who you should be pursuing because of all the companies this have been under, then tell them your given the runaround, they may be able to help you by confirming who is therefore responsible, and you can also ask them to write to them on your behalf.
This may save all the running around your going through.....

Its unlikely they will mess the FOS about.
Its just a thought, so its up to you of course, maybe before you go any further.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi All,
Still not sure what I am doing !!!! At the moment I have a ppi claim with the FOS for payment protection on an account that I had with Studio Cards a couple of years ago I sent the template letters to them in April 2009 got reply saying thanks but no thanks, so I sent them a second letter and got a reply saying they do not uphold my claim but the will refund me as a good will gesture the last amount I paid on my last statement which was the handsome sum of 1p !!!!! To which I went to the FOS sent all the paperwork and since then I have just had a letter every 2 months telling me they are still investigating aahhhhh !!! In the mean time I have sent the questionnaire and 1st template letter to RBS for ppi I had on a loan for over 7 years but I just kept topping it up over the phone so the ppi was always added without me knowing. Anyway they have gone over the 8 week timescale, they have sent me a letter saying that they know this but they have a back log and will get to me as soon as they can I have rang up a couple of times but got the same answer what should I do????? they are 3 weeks over the dead line now should I send them a second letter ?? I am not sure what to do I just want to know what their answer will be so I know if I should go the the FO with the claim or not ???? Also has anyone else had any success with Studio it would be great to know
CheersAny help I can get !!! lol :rotfl:

Hi All - well I am 1/2 way down the road to this reclaiming PPI and wonder if any of you clever people can help with a couple of things.
I have written to Halifax, Egg, Barclays, Argos and I used to have 2 cards for Principles/Burtons and I used to pay GE Capital.
Does anyone know where to write to G E Capital regarding PPI as I cannot find it anywhere.
Also, I had 2 mortgages - one with Halifax and the other with West Bromwich BS - I took insurance out on those too! Can I reclaim that?
Really appreciate all the help!

Patience is a virtue, so they say, the fos are inundated and at least they are keeping you informed.Hope you get a good result in the end

If i were you, i would give them the time they are asking for, if you get no joy after the last date they gave you then send the second letter, Again hope your news is good on both counts x

Here goes...
As of last statement (August 2010)
Remaining balance ~ £5935.54
Monthly payment ~ £264.38 (£41.62 ~ PPI)
Restructured loan:
Balance ~ £4804.85
Monthly payment ~ £222.76 (Just removed PPI)
They said they'd repay £2497.20 (Sixty payments @ £41.62 to Aug 2010) and take it off loan. Interest at 8% per year will be added.
So: £5935.54 - £4804.85 = £866.31 ~ I assume this is future PPi payments, however...
24 months left on loan x £41.62 = £998.88 not £866.31
So it appears to me that they've taken off wrong amount of remaining PPi and haven't actually refunded what I've already paid!! Am I completely off base?

Thanks for your reply and I understand that with my reduced repayments not all the PPI was paid and therefore can't be reimbursed. However what concerns me more is that Lloyds have not, from what I see, put me back in the position had I not had PPI added. This would have included the interest on the original loan. As I was paying a reduced sum it was still based on whole interest,
You would still pay interest each month on the total loan payment over the term, just because you have reduced the payment the interest still has to go on the loan.
including the PPI. During all the 6 years the settlement figure never dropped due to the interest ie stayed at £15000. This settlement figure was passed onto the DRD last month. Now with the PPI rebate the settlement figure is reduced only by £2600 after 6 YEARS?
How much was the ppi total?
Remember the loan was due to finish in 2007 and when my contract ended it was 2004 I had only 3 years left. I continued with my reduced payments until August 2010, an extra 3 years........ That is a lot of interest accrued for the wrongly added PPI.0 -
Hi guys
Just a quick update on my situation.
I managed to get a settlement from A&L quite easily. I was worried that I may need to fight abit due to it being an online applicationl.
Premium £393.94
Rebate £462
Interest £255.30
Total £1,1010.24
Awaiting Eggs decision, not sure if they did it on purpose, but they wasted my time by searching PPI charges on my current Egg card, even though I specifically requested the old account number.
Having problems with Lloyds (I had a loan with Goldfish) which Lloyds bought out. I had a reply from Lloyds saying they cannot deal with an account which they do not hold. Any advice on this will be great.
Thank you in advance!0 -
