Just finished the questionare to send to the onbudsman, fingers crossed ...
Hi there
Fingers crossed.
I take it you have already made a complaint to the loan company first and you are now making a complaint to the FOS because they rejected your complaint? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi there,
Sorry to sound ignorant, but how do I know if I have PPI?
I am currently paying off a professional studies loan taken through RBS at various stages between 2002 and 2006. There is no mention of it on the statement, but every 3 months the interest is taken out and I wonder if it is bundled in with this.
I will have a good look through any documentation I have at home tonight, but is there anything in particular I should be looking out for?
Many thanks and sorry to sound ignorant! I have looked around but can't find anything in particular.
Matt
Hi Matt
Your agreements will show if ppi is charged/added.
If you do not have these, then write a simple letter, enclose £1 cheque or postal order and request they send you a copy of the agreement (write account number - but if you don't have this, give them as many details as possible on the account) and request they comply by 12-14 days.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi,
I completed my letters to HSBC back in June of this year. They responded quite quickly acknowledging the letter and said they were looking into it.
Since that time I have had 3 letters apologising for the delay and thanking me for my patience. I think they are fobbing me off.
What should I do? I had most of the details to send them but did not have a clear idea of how much money I would have paid them for the PPI. I was out of work at the time they gave me the loan - let alone add PPI on top! Do you think I need this information to support my claim.
Thanks for any support. BTW I tried to look in the previous comments but failed to find the answer...
Cheers to all - Jonnie0 -

Hi Jonnie
Too damn right this is enough to support your case and I am actually surprised that your still waiting for a decision on this, where it should be simple enough for them to uphold in your favour.
I would either give them a quick call, tell them you've been waiting ample time already, or send them a quick letter and inform them that if you hear nothing by the end of the week, you will make the complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) with your evidence you have for being mis sold.
Good luck, please keep us posted, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

to be honest it was a monthly claim and i only had this for 2 years so not a great deal of money. At the time i dont remember agreeing to it, however my mortgage was arranged through an independant mortgage advice company and I assume they were on a good commission.
I was just curious but i think it would probably prove to be too much hassle to be honest for such a small return.
thanks anyway, i will stick to dealing with picture0 -
Hi there, it is worth the price of a stamp to send a letter off, give your reasons as stated above. This is your money and no matter how small this mounts up with interest. Please give it a go x
That is so right amersall.
oops forgot to post back on this one.....I am slacking ain't I?:o:o:o:D LOL.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi
I'm new to all this stuff so forgive my ignorance. I tried claiming back my bank charges from Halifax last year under the hardship banner and was basically told no chance. I have just been so busy lately and haven't had time to follow anything through and won't be able to for some time due to loads of personal commitments.
Anyway, today I gets a phone call out of the blue from McCleans Management Agency. The guy claimed they were one of 4 agencies recruited by the government to assist with PPI and bank charges claims. They had all my personal details including address, bank account number and sort code. They said that I would get back a guaranteed minimum of £1500 and probably more once I gave them all the details of other accounts, old loans, credit cards etc. The money would be credited to my account within 6 -8 weeks after I had completed all the paperwork. The catch is they want a one off payment £199 up front. This, they say is refundable at any time if I cancel before they pay me the money. It's very tempting but sounds a little bit too easy. Has anyone heard of this company and if so are they any good? Thanks0
