PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Sorry for the confusion, let me copy just the bit thats relevant below.........
Hello and thanks for very detailed response, but think I may have confused with my explanation, it was the SAR i was sent from both when I said I asked for letter with amounts (I sent letter from Template on here as you also suggested)
One sent a bit of paper with the PPI payments on and absolutely nothing else, plain envelop, no acknowledgement slip anything, only reson I knew it was Mint was they matched last two statements.
The other was from Virgin (MBNA) and they said I asked for it as detailed in my original thread, i can only think my response would be that if I actually chatted to them they would have asked me about my medical history?? and of course there is the fact I asked for info two years ago and also to cancel my PPI, this was the one that left phone number for me to call and discuss, i mentioned in original post.
Sorry for confusion.
...............
Hi there:)
And do not worry, I'm not actually thinking clear today, but keep at them is the best thing to do, and yes your right if this was discussed at the time of the sale then you would have been given the chance to have spoken up on the medical history, or they should have made sure you would have been eligible to take the policy out.
Personally though I would keep everything in writing, in case they try fobbing off on the telephone, however if you decide to ring them ask that they also send in written correspondence (just in case you need to make a complaint to the FOS - you then have this as some of the evidence).;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Just got me "we need another 4 weeks" letter from Natwest. FOS are dealing with other claim. Why don't Natwest reject me now (like they will), save me the waiting time and I can go straight to FOS now!
AH well, fingers crossed.
Hiya
Cheers for your update.
And as amersall says, hang in there.:D and fingers crossed for a good outcome.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi...This is my first visit to this site ...I've just recieved a cheque for my PPI reclaim...the company that sorted it for us will take 25% of this which i dont have a prob with , but they've added VAT on now, so this has taken their share to an extra £600 ...Do they have this option or not...is this legal or should they be only entitled to the 25%...I would be grateful to know where i stand on this...Denice..:)0

Hi and welcome
Well done on your success.
That is the thing with using claims companies, they charge and seem to charge what they want on success.
I am not actually sure about the VAT side of it though, if you have the terms and conds of any signed paperwork, check through them.
I can understand how annoyed you must feel about this, but any problems you can I believe contact the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), explain your situation with them, maybe they will check this out with your rights.

I do hope this is resolved, the best of luck.
If you do have any other reclaims, please feel free to ask for help on here, all free.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

i would write back, enclosing a photocopy of the loan and ppi agreement and then politely ask them to re-look at your complaint with the additional information you have provided.
there is no time bar on how far back you can claim, the time bar is on the banks and the time they have to hold information for which is 6 years.
good luck and let us know how you get on
Thanks very much for taking the time to respond.
I will send them a copy & will let you know how I get on.0 -

Hi Simon and welcome.
They have 8 weeks to give a decision, if you've not heard anything near that time, chase them up.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Your contract with them will say 25% plus vat, that means they add it on to the total charge, i am sorry but you will have to pay the vat.
But look on the bright side
vat is 17.5% now,if you won your claim from jan 2011 it will be 20% so you have in effect "saved" 2.5%:rotfl:0
