    Hi,

After a bit of advice, I have successfully claimed back PPI from Lloyds Tsb mainly through the help of Di! and have one claim with the FOS at the mo awaiting a response from LLoyds.

I had a CC with Bank of scotland from 1998 to 2002 through university that I was paying PPI on, i cant find any details of this though, and when I phoned HBOS they said they havent got any records for Bank of Scotland customers anymore..

has anyone had any joy reclaiming PPI from them?

    thanks

    Jon

I have been reading this site avidly and wonder if anyone can give me any advice. I took out a loan with Lloyds TSB in 2002 over 48 months. I had just finished a teacher training course and took a loan out two weeks before my employment as an NQT started. The salesman was very pushy and said I should take out the PPI. I said that I would be covered in my job as a teacher but he insisted I take it out stating that I may not be kept on after my induction year as an NQT. He then put an X in the box and had me sign the loan agreement accepting the policy. Incidentally, the loan was a non-cancellable graduate loan. I was annoyed with myself for being pushed around but felt I could not cancel the insurance as I could not cancel the loan. I know as a teacher I would have been covered after 18 weeks employment for illness but the salesman never asked me and just brushed this aside. Am I entitled to claim?

    Hi There

If you feel you were pushed into it and could not have the loan without the PPI then you can try to claim it back. It was also a single premium policy I presume which meant that it was added into the loan.

    Good Luck

    Hi and welcome.

Damn right you have a reclaim, go for it with your reasons.

You can do this by writing your own letter in your own words, or complete the FOS questionnaire, these were recently issued by the financial ombudsman service (FOS) and replaced the first template letter on this site, so you can complete that and write a cover letter (optional), sent to lloyds tsb, remember to keep a copy, they have 8 weeks in full to give a decision - sometimes they ask for more time, that is okay, just as long as you know where you are.

You will find the questionnaire, on link below, further down the page as stage one.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

Once completed the address used to make a ppi reclaim is as below:

    Lloyds PPI
    Customer Care
    Lloyds TSB Insurance
    Tredegar Park
    Newport
    South Wales
    NP10 8SB

Good luck, please keep us posted and ask for help when required.;)

  • Thanks for your replies. I have been looking at Martin's reasons for claiming and one of them is being unemployed. I was also technically unemployed at the time of signing the loan agreement - it was signed on 2 August 2002 and I did not start my teaching job until 19 August 2002. The more I read up about this the more annoyed I am getting with Lloyds TSB as I have been a customer for over 20 years!

I shall be writing a letter to TSB today.

    Thanks again.

    Hiya

Good for you, you do have good reasons to make a reclaim, fingers crossed and please let us know how you get on, also if you can post your reclaim by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

    Good luck.;)

    Hi again

Following on from my post a page back, going to go into the bank with my mate to discuss restructuring his loan so it no longer has PPI....

They had said that while investigations are ongoing the branch will arrange a new loan without protection and for the outstanding balance on your existing loan to be repaid. New loan will be on the same basis/interest rates/time frame honoured etc.

Now, I’ve read on here that some people have gone in to restructure their loan only to be told the payments are infact the same each month.. or sometimes even more!!!

The current loan agreement is below, he’s now paid off more than half of the loan as the balance is down from £18680 to £7472.
I would have expected the new loan to say he’ll be paying about £250 back per month instead of the current £311....? does that sound right or am I completely missing something
Just wanted a rough idea of what to expect before we go in there really

    Massive thanks for any help

Please dont cancel the insurance... your friend will get a loan over a new term with higher interest rate, it is best to see if he wins mis sell. if he does he is quids in, the ppi will be taken off the loan and restated as it would have been without ppi, so the loan payment is reduced and the term stays the same. He will get back ppi paid to date with interest. please hang fire and see what happens with mis sell.

Why bother using a claiming company when you can do it yourself?
You also get all the money rather than giving then a large percentage for what is really a letter and a stamp, or a you a troll?
You beat me to this :p just ignore these posts ;)
agree with you, diy for the price of a couple of stamps
  • Hi everyone.

Im completely new this and dont know whether this is going in the right place but what the hay.
I sent the ppi letter from this website to Welcome Finance in april and after resending it a couple of times a got a letter dated 8th of july saying they would uphold my claim and made me an offer. Happy just to get something back i accepted the offer and was told it would take around three weeks to process it and then they would repay £2500!!.
I thought this was to good to be true and sure enough I still havent had my money. In the last 10 days I have spent nearly 5 hours on hold trying to get through to them and when i do they fob me off, they sent another offer letter for me to sign last week and i sent it back recorded, rang up this morning and they said they haven't opened the recorded mail yet!.

Anyway to cut a long story short I want to know if I can reclaim late payment charges that I have picked up whilst I have actually been in credit (due them admiting they misold the ppi)? I also want to know what I can do to hurry them up? its really begining to grate on me to the extent that I go to bed thinking about it!

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks
