Di,
Quick question as its just occured to me
The claim im going to make is against the same company who I got my mortgage with (GE Money). The loan itself was secured against my mortgage - this claim on the PPI - will it have any effect against me/my mortgage as in, am I okay to persue??? Sorry if it seems like an odd question but im not sure ??? Steve
Hi there, do you mean the loan is secured on property? as these ppi are able to be reclaimed as for a loan. This should not affect your mortgage only by the fact your payment will decrease by the ppi amount. If i am wrong i am sure someone who knows about this will be along to help you with this.0 -
Hi, I have sent Santander 2 questionnaires for 2 loans that I had with Abbey Loan. They have sent me a further letter that they would like to speak to me about my complaint. Am I obliged to do this? I get tongue tied on the phone and don't really want to get into any long drawn conversations. I have filled in the questionnaire in detail, isn't this suffice?
Hi there, di recommends that you do not speak to them as they may try to trip you up. They may just want more info from you. I won with santander and only filled the questionaire in so i am not best placed to tell you what you should do, hopefully, di will be along and she will help you. x0 -
Thanks for the advice, really appreciated!0

Hi there Amersall, thaks for replying
yes this is secured against my mortgage - by the same lenders who gave me the mortgage so being paranoid im concerned it may cause issues or they may try pulling a fast one in way or another
guess the only way is to try - see what happens and report back to you guys! Watch this space.....0 -
Thanks for the advice di3004.0

Watch this space.....) you will save the ppi payment each month. They cannot treat you unfairly, so if they come back to you with anything that doesnt seem right especially with your mortgage let us know. if you still want cover for the loan then at least you know what to look out for now, as i know you will get a better deal for ins elsewhere. Good luck with this and keep us posted.

Good afternoon everyone,
Got a big question which I would appreciate all your Knowledge and advice on please!
Today I received a call from a company called SSC Total Compensation Claims Limited.
Basically they said that my old mortgage was miss sold to me and that I was entitled to full compensation.
They stated that this was government backed and proceeded to give me their details and a reference number which I could check on the Ministry of justice .gov website.
I did this and it seems legit? claimsregulation.gov.uk.
After telling me all the details of my last mortgage the agent said that I had a high claim of £1000 for every £6000 of my old mortgage, plus Id receive 100% of this as their paid by the authority?
Then the Alarm bells rang as he said to get your compensation they need to send me legal documents at a cost of £199!?
They mentioned Martins Moneysavingexpert website and the BBC, as well as stating that all banks must repay all miss sold ppi.
I basically said Id get back to them!
Has anyone heard of this company, if its legitimate or a con, been through this?
I'd appreciate all help and advice.
Can I make the claim myself?
Many thanks
Kernow

Dont touch any claim company with a barge pole!!! look on the reclaiming threads (mortgages) here to see if you can make a claim and do it your self. For the price of a stamp.0 -
I agree with amersall, I was originally going to go through a solicitors called Goldsmith Williams until I read up on the forums about them, theyre not regulated either (after checking) and they wanted 30% of the claim. Although its a different case than yours, the principal is the same and that is you can do it all yourself with a bit of patience, and guidance from everyone on here.....0
