""I received a response on the 09 August 2010, which is extremely un-professional; I have enclosed copies for your reference, as this does not answer anything I have written to you regarding the PPI charges, apart from actually providing me with the list of PPI charges from March 2008.
As stated in the compliments slip I received, you said that the PPI charges were applied via a card activation call; I fail to see how this has any bearing on my claim for miss-sold insurance as this product was of no use to me.
To date, I have not received a response from you with regards to this matter so I am writing again to request a full refund of the premiums, subsequent interest that I have paid on these premiums and the 8% statutory interest that a court would award. If I have not heard from you within 14 days I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.""
Hope this is ok and not a mouthful, i appreciate all the help!0 -
No that is good, get it posted and let us know how you get on. x
Managed to get some sense from Lloyds TSB credit card services today.
If anyone has an upheld complaint with Lloyds Credit Cards then the best number to phone is the 0845 606 2175 number. They were surpisingly helpful.:)
They have confirmed that my FOS decision was logged onto their system on the 29th July, and is with the Customer Concerns team.
They have noted the time scale stated by the FOS and hope to have the calculations completed by the 26th August...............not holding my breath but at least I have managed to speak to someone.:)0 -

Hi all
I am new to this site. I only became aware that I may have been mis-sold PPI for my credit cards and loans when I had a cold call from a company offering their services, but charging a percentage of the overall amount that may be reclaimed. After doing some research, I thought I would try to do it myself and save myself the fees!
I have several loans and credit cards which I have settled, because they are all settled I am unsure whether PPI was actually applied. All paper work for the loans have been destroyed so I do not have the original paper work or agreement number. I am aware my first port of call is to write to these companies to obtain a copy of my agreement with some charging £10 and some £1. Will the agreement show if I was paying PPI?
Loans I will attempt to reclaim:
Alliance and Leicester
Direct Line (RBS)
Goldfish (Lloyds TSB)
In addition I had an egg card taken out in 2001 but settled in 2007 and a MBNA virgin card settled in 2009 which I also want to look into (also not sure if i was charged PPI) Virgin charge £4 for each statement, so shall I just request the last statement of the cleared amount? Not sure what egg will charge yet.
But at first I'm going to concentrate on the loans first.
Any tips would be grateful!

Hi and welcome.
Good for you giving it a go yourself, I don't blame you, lots have had problems using claims companies, and of course they also take some of your money, this way - you having a go yourself, you get to keep all your ppi refund, interest etc.
There is another way you can try to retrieve some of your account info, this is called a Subject access request, in short known as a SAR, but it costs £10 cheque or postal order.
I take it then as you stated in your above post, they are giving you a charge by informing you its that of £10.
Make sure though its not just statements you receive, because if you send the proper letter of the SAR, they should enclose All they hold on you.....
Letter template on link below, they have 40 calendar days to comply.

If your just requesting for the agreements, it is that of just £1 postal order or cheque, and they should supply by 12-14 days.
If you taken out PPI, this should be enclosed/shown on your agreements.;)
Good luck and more on the reclaiming side of it here:

Hello all, just spoken with natwest and they have my two claims registered, apparentl a ltter went out yesterday to me second class post.
I must say the people i have spoken with at Natwest (RBS PPI concerns dept.) have been quite pleasant, how long that lasts for though who knows? The lady explained that they have upto 8 weeks to give a decision, but can require longer and i am within my rights to go to the FOS if so, but they will still carry on to investigate in the meanwhile. (which i was already aware of by the way)0
