Hi everyone, I haven't managed to get my form off yet even though I asked for advice weeks ago!! Just bought new ink for printer so ready for lift-off.

Just a couple of questions before I send. Why do they want to know what the loan was for in first place, is that important? I can't remember what I said when I applied for loan as it was to pay off my now husband's debts but I don't know if I said that to them or made something up as the loan was in my name only.... Is it important and should I put the truth? I can't remember exactly how much he was paying off and where, he had hp on a car and a personal loan. The monthly payments for this loan were much lower than what he was paying.

Also, the loan is in my maiden name and I've also moved house since taking out the loan. Should I send a copy of my marriage certificate with a covering letter so that they can change everything and prove it's really me claiming?

    Sorry, I know this sounds like I don't have a clue....because basically... I don't!!! :rotfl:

    Hi there

I think what they mean is, was it a loan advance or a loan consolidation perhaps, in your case if it was to pay off other debts, I would say loan consolidation, if it replaced another loan with the same lender that would be loan advance.
    Hope this makes sense.;)

You could update them on your new name, by also providing them with a copy of something to prove your maiden name, this will save come backs later on.

LOL :D not a problem, and the best of luck, please keep us posted.;)

Hi there, i would just put you cannot remember what this was taken out for, you are telling the truth, yes put your maiden name in and address where you lived at the time of taking the loan, and i would photocopy your marriage and birth certificate to show your name change and also something with your name on at your new address. This will save a lot of time in the long run as i think they may need this info, good luck and keep us posted x

Thanks Di, they say if the loan was to pay off other debts then I should give details. Should I just say hp and loan from Citifinancial (Which is all I can remember) or will they want more details? I'm guessing my marriage certificate should be enough proof as I have both names on there, obviously :)

And thanks to Amersall too, I didn't see your post until after I posted. If I put my old address, they won't send anything there will they? My mum opens any post that goes home as it's usually junk and I told her it was only a 3 year loan not 7 as she would have had a fit....

Hi, not a problem, sometimes its difficult to remember everything, and I do think this is just procedure - so if you do remember then write it in, otherwise what you said should be okay.
And yep a copy of the marriage certificate would cover it, that will be fine.;)
