Since this post I sent the second letter to HSBC requesting a second look into the complaint, giving them 14 days to respond. It has now been 4 weeks and I haven't even recieved anything to say they've recieved my letter.
I'm getting p*^?ed at their complete lack of respect now.

I am going to the FOS, should I inform hsbc of my disgust with their lack of communication and that I'm going to the FOS?

    Hi there
Your doing the right thing now on moving on to the FOS.

I would feel inclined as well to write to the HSBC, what you could do is give them a quick ring and ask if they are actually dealing with your complaint at this time, because youi've received no response in relation to the recently letter dated XX/XX/XXXX.

    Good luck.;)

  • Hi, just a quick one... I haven't searched the forums yet but will do. Just spoke to my Aunty and she has a Home Improvement Loan for £15000 and has insurance. Like me she said she was told it would help with the credit check if she took it out. Does a Home Improvement Loan stiill qualify? They are five years into a ten year loan.

    Thanks ;)))))))
  • First Can I thank Amersall for his answer to my previous post.

Could I have any thoughts on this please.......... I took out a loan with Paragon Personal Finance and paid the loan off in February or March 2004. Can I still claim for mis-sold PPI on this Loan? I don't have any paper work only the account number and the cheque number that First Plus used to pay the loan off. I have asked the company I am using at the moment and they only go back for 6 years, Baines and Ernst have said that they go back 10 years but charge 39%. Help please on what I can do???????

The figure they are refunding, on a £7500 loan and £1853.43 PPI is a whopping £3102.41!!! Almost half the loan ammount ;) Amazing

And on a seperate note.. they have also refunded me £440 outstanding charges that they said I owed because of late payments. An incredible day! I am now 100% debt free with the bank. It's taken me years of hard work to get to this stage and to get a load of money refunded is the total icing on the cake.

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    And

    THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can thank me .......but i am a her :rotfl::rotfl:didnt you notice my avatar is "cute":p

Yes you can still claim this, may be a bit harder bit nothing ventured nothing gained! try this.. send a letter claiming mis sell of ppi and your reasons, and you want all premiums returned with interest, just put your address where you lived when you took out this loan and the year you settled with the settlement figure. When you get a reply post on here and we will tell you what to do next.I am not saying you will get a favourable reply, but you dont know untill you try. I claimed for 2 loans with barclays for a friend of mine and all she had was the settlement figures, thet upheld this. Her loans were paid off in 2002.Can you get rid of this company? as they cannot do anything more for you than you can do yourself.By the way ask baines and earnst what system they use that the banks cant to check loan details that go back 10 years, as i would like to know the answer to this, and i am sure ppi complainants would too.

Hi can anyone help me please. I am using a claims company to reclaim the ppi that was mis-sold on my First Plus loan. The original loan was for 75.000 and the ppi was 14950. I have had the loan for 6 years now and so have had the ppi payment of 14550 back because i never claimed on it (i know it was a carrot!!!) The company are now telling me that i can not claim anything else, maybe the 400 pound difference from the original ppi too the amount i was paid back but still owe them 1250 for the work that they have done. I originaly tried to claim this back myself because they said that due to a payment holiday that i would not be able to claim my ppi back, until i suggested to them that they may have mis-sold it as i have had cancer in the past (within 2 days they changed their minds and sent me the money...lol) Can someone tell me please if the companys right.
    Original loan.........75000
    ppi.....................14950
loan taken out february 2004. No arrears approx 72 payments of around 800 per month. Interest rate keeps changing at the moment I pay 825.26 per month............ Help please
Have you an update on this? have just re read this, and what % is this company charging you, and did you already get your ppi lump sum back before you took this company on? your ppi refund for mis sell should be more than £400,as you get all premiums back you have paid to date with interest, this doesnt sound right to me at all, ask the company for a breakdown of this charge, this does not sit well with me.

Hi there and welcome, yes you can claim this back, put a letter in to the company giving loan account etc and you believe you were mis sold this insurance, put the reasons why and say you would like all ppi paid to date returned with interest and the loan restated without the ppi on.If you need any more help give us a shout.
