Well, I wrote to them (copy of body of letter pasted here):

Please find enclosed a copy of a letter I wrote to you on 21st June, to which I again refer. Your reply to this letter, dated 29th June, was that you would issue a full response within 28 days.

However, since I received the above letter from yourselves, I have had a total of £2058.88 refunded to my account.

As you can see from the copy of my letter, I requested a FULL breakdown of how the figure was arrived at, before I decided whether or not to refer my case to the FOS. I also enclosed a letter that I had originally written to Alliance & Leicester, requesting information on all insurance charges to my account, which they said they had referred to yourselves to deal with.

Furthermore, I requested any refund be made by cheque and not refunded to my account. This has, obviously, been ignored or overlooked and I hope that the other issues brought up are being dealt with and that I will receive the information requested within the 28 days advised, which is about one week from now.

I spoke to a Customer Adviser about these issues today, who was unable to help me, nor was he able to give me a direct telephone number or email address for yourselves. Instead, I was advised to write to you again to draw your attention to my requests made in my letter.

Therefore, please ensure that my original request is dealt with promptly and properly, and ensure that I receive the information I have requested and am entitled to.

As I understand it, should I refer my case to the FOS, they will include a standard 8% interest rate on top of my full refund of mis-sold PPI, so please ensure that this is taken into account also.

I look forward to hearing from you within 7 days. End of copy/paste.

I have now just received a generic letter - this time from the Customer Advocate Office Manager - thanking me for my recent letter and apologising for the delay in responding as their investigations are taking longer than anticipated. They will now issue a response by 17th August.

No mention of my request again for a breakdown of the goodwill offer, nor acknowledgement of my request for a cheque! I can only assume that what's taking so long is the investigation of my insurance going back to the year dot, which was what my original letter to A&L asked for, plus I completed the FOS template. I can't remember when I first must have paid PPI on my credit card (I think it may have been from around 1990, when I worked full-time as a Civil Servant, but I can't remember exactly).

Anyway, just keeping you posted and hope the copy of my letter might be helpful for someone else who has to chase their bank up!

Any further advice/comments would be welcomed. I don't want to let this one drop...!

    Hi there

    Well fingers crossed then.

So that response then was that the Chief Executive officer as well if was sent from? I know they can be known as manager too.

Um, not sure... I need to know where I post the questionaire too. Is it the branch? The Ombudsman?

Thanks in advance for your help ;)

Arh right I got ya lol.:D

You send to the bank head office, these fos questionnaires were issued for you to use to make a reclaim to whoever was responsible for mis selling.;)X

There is another form to complete for the fos if the bank does not resolve in your favour by the final decision, you will find this on the FOS website here below, but see what happens of your reclaim complaint first.

    Hi Di,

    Still smiling today........................:):):):)
    Still having to pinch myself..................
Tried to do a calculation yesterday but got lost in all the numbers...
I did get a rough calculation that I had paid £12,500 in PPI payments alone, let alone any charges they applied, which are also refundable according to the Ombudsman decision.
When you got your money back from Lloyds did you have a choice of how to get paid as I would rather have a cheque so I can bank it elsewhere.
The fact that the Ombudsman has added a 'caviat' relating to Lloyds having to remove and reimburse 20 years worth of PPI and re use each monthly payment to reduce the balance without the PPI, means that this may well clear the outstanding balance I have.
Once all of this is sorted I plan to do my utmost to make sure that no one ever gives up.
I started my mini quest in October 2007 and hopefully provide testimony to the fact that if you stand by your convictions and beliefs you can get back what is rightly yours.
With the help of amazing people on here like you and Amersall........xx

    Hi
bless you.:A We are only too happy to help.

I am sure you can request for a cheque payment if this is what you want.
If you have a bank account with them, they may suggest paying it in this way, but what I would do is ask the fos about this first, it shouldn't be a problem.;)
    Good luck honey XXXXXXXXX

    Thanks Di,

I have left a message for the Ombudsmans assistant to phone me back as I have a few questions as to what I need to do now.
