Hi Sarah
I do hope you hear of a result soon, maybe you could give them a timescale of your own if it happens again and state if you do not hear by so and so a date you will then continue to take matters further.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Silly question. On the cards that I am waiting for the PPI money back from, there were several months I was in difficulty. I know I was close to the limit but at the time money was short and due to a frozen bank account with a lot of money in it was forced to use the credit cards...anyway long story short I failed to take into account PPI on these cards (as I hadn't asked for it) - 10 years ago or so - so was charged an overlimit fee and a bunch of other charges. Do you think I would be successful if I made a claim on these? I had to wait several months before I could pay things off and they incurred late fees and overlimit fees.Total debt at lightbulb moment (Jan 2010): £23410
Target for Dec 2011: £17000
Lloyds - Early Jan: £[STRIKE]2040[/STRIKE] Feb: £[STRIKE]2050[/STRIKE] Mar: £0
Other Lloyds @ highest: £9800 Feb: £9800
Current debt: £234200 -

Hi
Yes its defo worth a shot, in regards of the charges keep them separate to the reclaiming side of ppi though, it soon adds up with interest as well, and maybe ask for help if required on the thread here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=102
There is more on the reclaiming side of it here:

Hope this helps, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi,
I have looked through a few pages of thread 1.. thought I should just post my question.
I took out a loan in 2005 for £7500 with the Halifax.
I was 100% told that because I was self employed I HAD to take the cover or else I couldn't get the loan. It was Canary Wharf branch.
The cover has been factored into my monthly payments and totals £1853.43.
I was late on nearly every payment, sometimes just by a day or two (I'm a freelancer, it happens!) but I also have additional charges, which they have been sending me letters out of the blue about, because I have just finished paying the loan (and insurance) off. (Woo!!!) hOWEVER, THEY NOW SAY i OWE some additional £760 charges!
I thought that these charges were coming out of my current account each month. So I requested a statement of charges. Have been sent a fully detailed list of charges...which is quite confusing.
Just to re-explain..
I have 1 current account and 1 loan, both with Halifax (apparently these are two seperate things? I never understood this at all!).
Each month I would see charges on my current account and just guessed they were for my loan account being paid late. I used to have a direct debit set-up with my current account to pay my loan. However, I have now been presented with a bill for £760.31 to cover "loan charges".
Looking through the loan...
Loan ammount - £7500
Insurance - £1853.43
Arrangement fee - £93.53
Various charges ranging from £10 - £30.
Anyway, I think this is two seperate posts probably... but anyone think I may be entitled to the PPI reclaim?
Thanks in advance!0 -

Hi there
I would check your ppi insurance policy cos some will still protect if self employed, you may still have been pressurised and have reasons to make a reclaim on the ppi, so give it a go by completing the FOS questionnaire as shown on link below further down the page as stage one.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Keep copies for your reference, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
These questionnaires are used instead of template reclaiming letters and issued by the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) you send to whom is responsible for setting up your policy.
Yes keep the charges side of it separate.;)
Check this out here:

And the thread for reclaiming the charges here:

Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
