  • Hi again,

A quick update on my claims with HSBC.

I sent them the second template letter requesting they review their decision on my claim, giving them 14 days to respond or I would go to the FOS. Excluding the weekends this is day 16 and still no reply from them.

I'm getting annoyed now. I just want my money back!

What should my next step be? Contact them again or go to the FOS?

    Any advice welcome!

    Thanks

    Hi

Give them until Monday, and if nothing arrives in the post by then, then move on to the FOS.

You could give them a quick ring to ask them if they are actually dealing with your complaint right now if you want to.;)

    Hi Di and Amersall,
Just a quick update for you.
The FOS have emailed me this morning to confirm that my complaint has been prioritised due to age of claim and the difficult circumstances I am facing, although it may still take some time to be allocated to an actual Ombudsman.
I also e mailed the Money Saving Expert team yesterday to let them know about my plight and the fact that my 2 and a half year wait with the Ombudsman seems to be very, very strange and against the trends that appear to be noted on here, even by Martin himself.
I will keep you updated, as ever and thanks again for your support.
You are very welcome, hope this will be dealt with now, good for you sticking with this.Hope the next post you make will be your "winning post" am excited now for you. Fingers and toes crossed for you.xxx

    Good Morning,
I recently wrote to Tesco Finance about misselling of PPI on a loan, they have written back asking for me for a copy of my signature to allow them to proceed with the investigation, is this normal procedure which I should comply with ?
All previous succesfull claims I have done have been without giving my signature,
    Thanks

hi everyone, i had a lot of problems with Barclays and i just wanted ours back too. Alot of things were spoken about over the phone and i asked for things to be logged on the notepad, most of it was. Eventually, i went to the bank personally, explained to them the situation and they took copies of things and faxed them direct to the person handling the case. You may find they will make excuses such as the volume of claims, info not passed on etc. If any money is still owed you may be told that you have to take out another loan, for the remaining period left on your loan ie 36 mths in my case. Although they had all our details of income they requested it again - fax it is my advice ( copy of wage slip etc-avoids further delays) do it at the bank aswell, you will get a photocopy. Make sure it is sent to the claim handler ie FAO: We later got a letter stating they are dealing with our case june (it all started in Jan). It was nearly finished with then, got on the phone demanded compensation, got two refusals, then £100.00 and an aplogy. They had also had made a mistake and we are paying bak less as their maths didn't add up - rushed our case, they know about it though. Check your new interest rate is correct.

    Hi there

Some will ask for a copy of the signature for proof that it is you, with just one of them I believe I had to do this and think I sent them a copy of a utility bill/council tax bill instead that did not have a signature on it, and they still dealt with my case.

Personally I think a bill should be sufficient without need of your signature, but wait for other opinions on this if you want to first, or contact the Information Commissioners office (ICO) for advice, they should let you know of the best direction to take with this matter.

    Good luck.;)

You should give FOS a ring on Monday, it will be logged etc and you will be on file I would also contact HSBC today, ask your question, be very nice, act all innocent etc, throw in a line regarding your other half is contacting FOS on Monday as you are getting too stressed etc and you are trying to avoid it, but you will have to let them to get a peaceful life, reminding them of the time factor - if you have to. Do not be arrogant etc, even if they wind you up. Make a note of their name, time etc
