    Hello there Ladies and Gentlemen,
I be very thankful for some advice about my wife's Alliance & Leicester Loan.
I sent the first Template ( thankyou for that ) to A&L asking for the refund of the PPI and the 8%. It was for 10,000 over 48 months.
Yesterday i got a letter from A&L which seems to be a contract without the PPI for the last 13 months but nothing about the refund of what i already paid into the PPI.
Anybody got any useful tips about this or has anybody came across this also.

    Hi there
Thanks for posting and not a problem.

So they enclosed a copy of the agreement/contract which shows that you did not have PPI?
    Was the PPI cancelled then?

I take it you mean what you have already paid in PPI when you did have this??

They have 8 weeks to respond in full, so if the 8 weeks have not passed by yet, maybe they are still looking into this, but then I would wonder why nothing was mentioned either.

Contact them and ask them if they are dealing with this, if the 8 weeks have passed I would be inclined to now move on to the FOS from here, as your still entitled to do this anyway even if they have not responded in that timescale, you could actually ring the FOS and explain to them and see what they say or ask them would they be able to deal with this on your behalf, like they did with one of mine, they sent the details off for me to the other party, then this should not be ignored, however this may just mean its 8 weeks again.

    FOS contact here:

Please let us know how you get on thanks.;)
    And good luck.

My wife started the Loan about 3 years ago and 13 months to go, On that contract 3 years ago it shows the PPI so i asked the refund early December, Got 2 letters of A&l since i asked them for the refund saying they are busy give them time so yes over 8 weeks now.Yesterday got another contract of them without the PPI.

So from your good advice i will move on and contact the FOS, So thanks again.
I will post again and tell you how i will get on.

Help me please. I can't make head or tails of this.

So I took out the loan in september 05 with the first payment coming out on the 25th of october 05 @ £196.22 I then paid for the next 22 months (23 months in total) at the same rate until August 07 which I cancelled the PPI and settled the Loan for £7620.07 after already having paid off £4513.06 meaning I had paid off £12133.13 in total including the premium for the PPI. Lloyds are claiming that the interest on the loan was also paid back but as the loan didn't go the full 84 only 23 surely I shouldn't have paid that amount.?

Any help please as this is seriously causing me a headache.
  • Hi - has anyone ever heard of a company called Alabaster Limited? I've got a 2nd letter off GE Money saying that although we got a loan through first national - they "acted as a 3rd party" in arranging our loan with 1st Nat.

This is news to me - the address they give is in Jersey - I take it I need to do a SAR with 1st Nat then? I've searched for the company but the only one it comes up with is one that is now bust and was in Birmingham - any help would be gratefully received.

    Hi Aggy

May I suggest that you phone them up and ask them for the full figures so you can see how they have worked this out for you. If they are not willing to do so. Then send off for a SAR the letter is on the Top of the discussion Forum send them off 10.00 and they will then hopefully send all the documentation so that you can make more of a judgement on the final figures. They have 40 days to respond to this request.

Post it Recorded delivery . When you have all the figures and workings out if you post them on here then I am sure Turboman will check them for you.

    Good Luck Aggy:D

    Hi Aggy

You've had one heck of a day I know that.

Maybe what Maxdp says in her above post and what I said earlier to you over the other thread a SAR maybe the only way to retrieve the paperwork, but do you have a set time with the FOS to get back to them in regards of your offer you said about earlier?

But the ICO, the contact details I left you earlier may be able to help as well if your having trouble with them supplying the information they still should have on you, they must have something to work off.

I do hope this resolves, I know Lloyds are not being easy with you are they?
