What I am trying to ask here is .... can you go for misselling of a ppi, when your insurance certificate states that any medical conditions suffered, within the last 1 or 2 years are not covered? Even though I did not check it as I simply went with the brief synopsis of what the assistant told me!!

    Hi
Thanks for your earlier replies, but I just want to pose the question ..... Is it my responsibility to check the insurance certificate when they issued it, even when the assistant knew about my condition and recommended that I take the ppi?

    Hi nee-naw

They always state its our responsibility and in my opinion they had a responsibility as well when they sold this, they should have made sure it was suitable.
You done your bit and with mine it was a case of thinking it was an all in one agreement, because I thought cover was part of the loan or credit card.

If your case went to the FOS they receive this info all the time from the other parties that it was our responsibility and so, but the FOS look at two sides and will take your reasons into consideration.

That really is a standard fob off statment to be honest hun.;)

Yes nee-naw I believe you have a case here, and can go for the mis selling side of it.

Others may give their opinions here as well but that is mine hun and I think you should in your case.;)

Thanks Di really appreciate it, but I think that even the FOS have to allocate some responsibility towards us too!! Excuse the pessimism but if it was't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck

You're a star!!! But girl from claims was so "this is not our problem" wondered if I should even bother. Wanted to put me through to financial hardship line, but I have never missed one payment or even been late!!! The premium for this month alone is over £50, this goes back to 2004.

nee-naw you keep on at them and do not back off this one here, she is just simply trying to fob you off, its your money here and it should be in your pocket, not their's, so you continue with this, we will try to make sure you get your way here.
Its a lot of money there and it all adds up.;)

  • Hi - have rec'd letter from FP re rebate, but I need help as I'm not sure if they have done this right??? Our policy with them is still ongoing - this is there reply:

'A full refund of the insurance premium of £5082.15 has been applied to your account along with the interest paid on the premium to date of £2540.20.

Please find enclosed a cheque for £2655.72 in respect of the part of your monthly repayments that were made towards the insurance policy and a further amount of £460.18 in respect of 8% interest on the monthly payments... This amount is being refunded to you in order to put your account in the position it would be if the insurance had not been taken.'

Does anyone know, as our policy is still ongoing, should we accept this or should we argue or do we have a case to argue for the £5082.15 + £2540.20?????
Any help would really be appreciated:confused:

if they have put your account back to the position it was in had you not taken the insurance check your monthly payment and look at your agreement, how much was being charged a month for ppi and has that figure been reduced, you need to call them and ask them if the ins has been cancelled, by what you have said you have all the premium taken off your account 20 5082.15 +2540.20 they have allready given you back! plus a cheque your very lucky how long did this take you?
