ANy help and advice with this would be great!
I paid £10 to get my bank statements and credit card statements back from the last 6ish years.
I wa intending to try and claim back some charges on my bank account - it came to a few hundred pound- haven't done this yet.
However the big charges I note are on my credit card which is in respect of insurace. The amount is over £1000. I don't remember being asked about insurance, and certainly no-one asked about whether I met the criteria but I don't have documentation to prove this (should I ask the bank for a copy of the agreement I signed?)
I have a long term back problem which I feel would make any claim I made invalid.
I have since stopped the insurance on these grounds.
Can I reasonably claim this money back.
i am with lloyds and it is a gold card credit card I have
any advice would be great.
thanks
Hi There
Yes you can claim it back if you feel that you have been mis sold. The CC agreement may well have been pre ticked for PPI meaning that you had to OPT OUT of the insurance rather than OPT IN. If you have had a long term back problem you certainly would not have been covered.
I would ring them in the first place explaining the situation. If you can get it sorted at bank level it would be much easier and quicker. If they are not willing to listen then send them the template letter, adjusted to fit your circumstances. Give them 8 weeks to reply. Send recorded delivery.
Let us know how you get on.:mad:0 -
Hi guys,
After a recent success with LTSB for £12000 I seem to have got the bug for this PPI claim business.
I am currently in the first letter stages of a claim with CO-OP loans, and another with a company called chartered trust who were taken over by black horse in 2002 i think. My question is that, I have all the loan documentation for the transactions with chartered trust, but who would I write to regarding a claim.(do chartered trust still exist) cannot find any address for them on the net, only the address in cardiff where black horse are now trading from. Or could black horse be responsible for the claim.
Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Hi Nathan
I would write to the 2 and see what they come back with and make them aware you are writing to the other in case they try to fob you off.
You could check out the contact details with the FOS, or even ask them to write on your behalf, this way you should not be fobbed off, normally it is those who set up the finance is the ones you write to - but once they have been taken over the chances are they may try to put the blame on the other.
So you could contact the FOS and ask if they would write to them on your behalf, they will also check to make sure the letter is sent to the correct one.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi have been reading this discussion forum for the last month and it gave me the push i needed to try and reclaim my ppi on a loan. Let you know how i get on. I was now wondering if i could reclaim on my cc insurance. If i have 2 credit cards with the same company and have ppi on one would that cover me for the 2nd card aswell or would i need seperate ppi on 2nd card. Any help on this thankyou.0

Hi and welcome.
Good luck with your loan ppi reclaiming.
And yes for the same reason you have for the above, you can also reclaim on the credit cards ppi.
If they mis sold ppi on both accounts and its for the same company then write both account numbers on the same letters with the reasons that apply.
Its the same as reclaiming for the loan ppi, hope this helps, good luck and look forward to hearing from you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for your reply Di. Just so i am clear are you saying that if i have cc insurance on 1 card this covers all cards? You are a lady who knows, and have helped a lot of people. Keep up the good work.0
