sorry just thought it brought the point back to what you originally discussed. Saw the same types of pictures when i was your sons age, that's when i started bag packing at supermarkets and raising cash for the SSPCA. They use to have a kids magazine, don't know if its still in circulation? My wee dog is a rescue dog and i hate to think of the mistreatment he went through before he came to us. I love to re-home them all.0

They all still put animals to sleep though....so why does anyone want to support that???0

That's unfair LT. No-one does want to support that.
If more people suported the SSPCA....then there would be even less of that.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I thought they both did.
What I mean is....why not support a smaller, local animal shelter rather than these big boys who spend 1000's on marketing and advertising....(no matter where it is)....and yet they use money that is raised to inject animals into death??0 -
I prefer to support indepepndant rescues too, but the truth is if less people bought from breeders and rescued instead, unwanted dogs being PTS would not be an issue - sometimes, tragic as it is, I can inderstand why it happens, and I think being PTS is sometimes far less cruel to dogs than the alternatives, sadly.0

I meant that if there was more funding available to these organisations then more anmals could be cared for instead of being pts.Herman - MP for all!0 -
The title is a direct quotation from the Herald newspaper. On Tuesday the RSPCA issued a statement stating that they redirected donations from Scotland to the SSPCA. Not only has this been found to be untrue, but they even know the proportion of their donations that arise in Scotland: a figure of "only 3.5%" . However, this translates to an actual amount of £1.25 million pounds. This amount of money would fund the largest Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Scotland for 2 years! I wonder what proportion of the £60+ million raised by legacies comes from Scotland?
It looks like the campaign has been justified.0
