Tricki, just out of interest, you aren't pressing buy, letting the basket change and then pressing the back button to get you back to where you were, are you?

I noticed when I did this that the initial 'buys' stop on and so I end up buying them again.

I did have problems with items getting duplicated when ordering last week though - but that was when I pressed the remove button - the system just ordered two of most everything else and at one bit I'd spent about £150!

The next day it seemed fine though.

So I am not the only one whos noticed it. What browser were you using?

I have not been using the back button, but I have noticed it happens if I refresh the page or have more than one tab open with the shopping cart on it, and last time when it happened just as ordered last item and clicked View Cart button at side of screen to goto checkout to pay

Just more than a little annoying is all - ill figure out if its to do with browser first by testing others, but if others are having problems could be a fault on website or servers and that could cause another wave of problem orders if people didn't notice the duplicates or found they couldn't get rid of the duplicate items from basket as I had at one point.

I'm not tearing my hair out, but only because I'm a long haired hippy guy, so would take all day;)

This is what is happening - below are 2 screen shots. on the first note cart total, and on the second is the result after clicking view cart - notice difference in price (cant see the
duplicated items but they are there).
Went from £61.19 to £117.

First thoughts on causes - something to do with how the site handles cookies as I know they store the cart - maybe refreshing is sending the information to the cookie but its not overwriting old items just adding another set of the same items to that basket. The alternative would be a server overload problem where the data is getting lag and the cookie holding the basket receives the item twice becuase of delay (unlikely tbh). No way for me to test those, so Ill just see if error crops up again in another browser. I'll ring Dan if it looks like can effect more than myself so can get it fixed.

  • I'm on Windows XP and IE - but I have the opposite problem this morning - most things I ordered last night have now disappeared because they are no longer in stock.
So maybe that answers a question somebody asked earlier - does it mean you have 'booked' your items - Nope. In fact I watched as my beans disappeared this morning:eek:

I know what you mean stuff is going fast which is why wanted to get most of my shopping now while stuff still available.

I managed to place an order on windows with no errors, and been filling up baskets like mad on other browsers and it hasn't happen on them (yet), so it looks like its my browser on Linux system.

I'll try disabling addons later to try to figure out which one was causing the problem, but now got order done can relax a little as its likely nothing wrong with the site itself, just software incompatibilities . Time to put feet up now

Edit: Order arrived! good things come to those who wait.
First impressions. Well packaged, which is a good thing as the DHL guy handed it to me upside down. No damage, food looks nice, gonna eat well tonight.

Are orders placed via Google Checkout also not received when your 'inbox' is full?
Oh now I am worried as I placed a second order on the 2nd, is there a chance it might not have been received? Can someone please confirm if this is the case as people may need to re-order? I haven't actually had my first order from the 16th yet, I thought maybe I had more chance of getting a second order delivered as a lot of the original things I ordered are probably sold out.

I just went to the website to place my (first) order and have got less than £20 of goods in my basket but it's saying that delivery will be over £10.

Have looked at their delivery charges and can't believe that the few things I want to order weighs more than 28kg!!

Am not going to order as if I pay half again for the postage then the stuff isn't really any cheaper than in the supermarket.

Hi- some people had a problem with custard and angel delight type stuff, which was coming up as weighing much more than it should. But if your basket is full of soup I agree- what about swapping it around with stuff like seeds and nuts and cakes? 28kg is a lot of stuff when it is cakes and crisps.
It may be worth waiting till all the things that at the moment say 0 available come on line properly- as he does have stock of a lot of stuff but is trying to limit orders for a few days.
  • Looks like they are now processing my order from the 20th jan.

Just had a Refund for £17.41

As old items i ordered back then are now out of stock:
    Goodness bars £2.64,
    Choc brownies £1.00,
    Limbos, £0.40,
    lemon sensations £0.40,
    Grab + Go £1.50,
    Horlicks £1.00,
    Porridge £0.99,
    Bakin Boys £2.00,
    Horse Raddish £1.04,
    Gravy £0.99,
    Tetley Tea £0.20

and a refund of postage £5.25

Well i am happy to have a refund, just a shame i missed out on all those items, due to the amount of orders they have had. Was looking forward to them, now have under half my items left - at least i'm getting some of my old order. :)

Was going to make a new order today but the bake beans are now out of stock, so no point now - until more new items are added.

If you have 2 or 3 'slabs' of soup or bottles/tins of fizzy drinks it will soon push you over the weight limit. Tins of soup weigh usually 400 grams (or more for the big soups)each, so if you have a couple of dozen of those it would soon mount up. I think also the total 28kg has to include the packaging, which is more than the net weight of the item, I am sure Dan posted about this before but it was a while ago. ;)
