Dusty-As mentioned it is good that he cares and isn't being blase about what he is done. I am not justifying it but I think maybe he just didn't think. Hopefully he will have learnt from this. Everyone makes mistakes.

    Hi everyone

Just a quick post to say we have not disappeared off the face of the earth!

I just don't know where this week has gone so far. School has been open every day so A & W did not get any extra time off but they got the chance to play out in the snow on Monday afternoon when it was nice and fluffy so all is well.

I spent the morning clearing the car and drive ready for tomorrow on the premise that if we get snow that is what it will be and not the pack ice that has been here since Tuesday. The front of the house faces north and does not get the sun until late afternoon hence the ice is not melting and is being compacted by the other cars going over it.

Had to get out as I was getting cabin fever so called at my mates for coffee and then braved morrisons! It was busy but I reckon I got enough to keep us going until next week.

Hugs all round, I have skimmed the thread but my brain is mush at the mo so no individual mentions as I would hate to miss someone out.

Work tomorrow but I will try to post in the evening, take care all xx

ITV have got stuck! They went to adverts during the footie and missed the goal, and now they are completely stuck!

I really am going to bed now. Nite all

Toots - make your bed NOW and switch the electric blanket on immediately!

GnB - glad to hear your LO is OK and the appointment went well. It must be hard for all of you to have to deal with the operations and the constant pain.

While getting my hot water bottles made I have managed to tidy the airing cupboard (didn't take much, although I did find a couple of flannels in the wrong pile), dust the bedroom and tidy the drawers on my bedside table and tall boy (did the chest of drawers last week, and there was no sign of anything hanging out of it today :D ). I even started the S&S in the kitchen, cleaning out the sink, putting bits in the DW and putting away gloves/scarf/hat that had mysteriously made their way onto the table!

Sunnygirl - (((hugs))) make sure you make time for yourself over the next few days

Mudbath - whatever you're on, can you hand some of it out to the rest of us please :j :j :j we could do with the energy... and I really do think you're ready to go back to work!

rosepink - you're doing great, and remember, there's always someone around on here if you need to talk

emily - I hope you and your OH are enjoying the new bungalow. You're certainly keeping busy

pigpen - the star chart is certainly having the desired effect! :T :T Great idea. :T :T Thanks

    Empty bin
    Extras
    1. S&S kitchen
    2. HHI
My ironing pile has grown again (2 duvet covers, 2 pillow cases, 1 flat sheet, 7 shirts), so I need to focus on getting it out of the way. I hate putting bedding in the TD as it always ends up with loads of creases... but otherwise I don't think I'd get it dry!

Hot water bottles are in my bed, bedtime tea drunk, so off to run a bath and will log off imminently!

I can post it to you, and put off any further guests until you get it back to me :D

ETA - I have no idea what to do about tomorrow... I keep looking at the weather forecast and I seem to be on the edge of the area that's going to get more snow... so I'm not sure what the travel conditions will be like... but I don't drive in snow here... no one knows how to drive safely!

    Evening all :hello:

I haven't caught up on the thread sorry. I'm just too tired.

This first bit is off topic but I know a lot of people here are parents & students as well and I'd like some advice please from you lot before I venture out to any other boards :o

I had an appointment at the job centre on Monday and I asked what happens when I finish my course. My adviser said that was up to me. When I explained that I would like to go basically full time at OU to complete my degree so I can get on with my teaching qualification she couldn't really help me out much ("traditional" university not a problem, distance learning...no idea  ). Basically she said to me that I have a number of options :
    1. Go onto Income Support and do nothing with my TA qualification I'm studying for.
    2. Stay on IS but go to another training company, problem there is I am over qualified for a lot of them since I have A-levels and a Diploma of Higher Education  Plus those who would take me would probably only take me on certain courses.
    3. Find a job (easier said than done!)
    4. Go to a "traditional" university and study. The problem is I would have to come off Income Support and live on Child Benefit, Tax Credits & Child Support (currently £491) I'd have to reapply for Housing Benefit (which might actually work in my favour as I'm still on the old system but the new way would entitle me to move of my rent paid apparently  ) and I think I'd be exempt from Council Tax as a student but I'm not sure. But apply for EVERY loan available to me which means at time I could be without income  Not a route I'm particularlly keen on, but if needs must then I will.
    5. Stay on IS, continue my study part-time and choose another option of either working (earn too much, come off the IS and have to pay my fees for the OU courses instead) or staying at home (which I think would actually drive me mad now I'm used to being out the house - it was bad enough over the school holidays!). This means though that I would be unable to complete my OU degree in the next 3 years, which means delaying my teacher training.
I'm not even sure ATM if thats all my options. I don't think I could manage to juggle a job, studying and raising a child on my own without things starting to slip. I just can't seem to win. I can't even come up with a sensible list of pro's and con's for the different options that I can think of. :wall: Any advice? My dream was to become a teacher by September 2013 when DD goes to secondary school, and its looking less likely by the day. :(

Now to keep this post on topic... today my flying has consisted of ...
    • Washing dishes
    • Making tea in the slowcooker
and thats it :o Today just seems to have disappeared. Catch you all later at some point I'm off to my pit
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
