  • I'm NEVER gonna get anything done today.

Just in from work and back up at 6am to start again.

On the plus side OH has cooked a gorgeous curry and veggie pakoras and done the washing and drying.

We don't have any kids to have 'pits' and the spare room is OK as no-one sleeps there unless friends crash over.

Could probably do with a hoover. Kitchen to SS then a quick blitz.

Need to find my list... and work out what I need to do to finish today's list... hopefully Pigpen will give me a star for yesterday as I was good and did it ALL :D .

Had to rush off earlier, as I'd forgotten I had a committee meeting before the governors meeting :o but luckily other people were later than me! I normally drive when I'm late, but didn't this time as the car still has quite a bit of snow on it, and I'm sure the walk did me good after three days cooped up in the house!

    ... right... where's that list...

    ***CV and job applications!!!
    Continue to dejunk utility room
clear, wipe and refill study shelves
clear and wipe desk (I can do it, honestly)
    Declutter the pc desk
Clean out the car! - once the snow has melted and I can find it
Pay tree surgeon - will have to ring... still can't find the invoice :o TUESDAY Have called...
    Buy screen wash
Wash & store remaining dog bedding
    Finish clearing study
Agree date to finish utility room
Clean utility room tiles - started... and have had a second go... don't think it'll work

Monday - Living room, hall and stairs!
    DONE :D
Tuesday - Kitchen and Utility room
    DONE :D

Wednesday - Beast Pits and Spare Ooms!
    Level One
    Level Two
    Level Three
Tidy up all the books and games on the shelves
    Extras
    1. Binbag dance!
    2. Wipe the paintwork.. doors, desks, skirting
    Thursday - Master Mess-room.. & landing
    Level One
    Level Two
    Level Three
Wipe the bed frame of dust and deweb the room
    fill a binbag of rubbish
    Extras
    1. S&S kitchen
    2. HHI
    3. Tidy a chest of drawers.. tuck in all those bits hanging out
    4. straighten up the airing cupboard
I actually got quite a bit of tomorrow's list done today, which is good, as if I have to go into the office tomorrow I'll be ahead. I'm just trying to work out whether I could actually do a couple of things that will allow me to delete the last bits of today's list with a clear conscience ;)
  • Thanks Soappie and Rach and everyone for being so kind and understanding. It really helps when people are so nice. I had a nice bath and read my book and am now finishing off decluttering the Malteasers!
I've been doing quite well lately, today came as a bit of a shock. When I think back to how I was this time last year, things have improved massively. Dec 07 I started getting panic attacks and was in the midst of a big black depression which started after a few major life changes in the autumn. Couldn't go out without having a panic attack, so was off work sick a lot. Diagnosed with agoraphobia in Jan 08, off work permanently from Feb onwards. Couldn't even answer the front door some days. Things were really bleak, only the love of my husband, family and God were keeping me going. By July I'd lost my job, although I was doing a bit better at going out. I applied for a new job which I started in December and it suits me much better than my old job. Much less stressful, not in a crowded place, and as I have to manage my own time, if I need five mins in the car to have a breather and calm myself down I can do that. It's been a big thing to start a new job but I'm quite proud of myself. I've come a long way, although going out is still tough if I haven't been out for a few days. I must try to go out tomorrow and get used to it again. And thanks to you guys I'm even starting to get things sorted out at home and don't feel like such a failure as a homemaker! I'm really pleased with how the kitchen looks today.
    Thanks for being so nice
Emily, thanks for your reply and hope things are as well as they can be with you and your husband.
    Night night everyone

  • Night everyone

Can't believe how fast thread moves - only managed a skim today.

Good work day today not much flying but can catch up on Friday. I washed spare room sheets. I managed to change light bulb in oven with the aid of WD40, rubber gloves and brute force. Now I can see what's cooking again!

Made a beef stew and oversaw kids homework.

    Candle lit for Tristan.

Also for this week: [STRIKE]Clear off and polish small coffee table.[/STRIKE]
Sort out a bundle of photo magazines to go up to our Neighbour - I promised them her weeks ago but she's four floors up and I've not summoned up the energy yet! :rotfl: If I take a bundle of them up there though it is less of them cluttering up the top of the sewing box.
[STRIKE]Tidy out the bottom of my wardrobe[/STRIKE]
Once the wardrobe is done and I have unearthed my knee high boots check if they now fit OK on my calves and give them a hoover out/clean/polish if so.
[STRIKE]Work out where the heck to store my newly purchased 3kg bag of bicarb![/STRIKE]
Bicarb is sorted -I managed to find a spare few inches in the bottom of the hall cupboard!
Take bag of bits to the charity shop

My M.A.C.A.W this week is: Be in bed before 11pm each night - I feel so much better when I do this!
    Sunday: Failed - 11.15pm :(
    Monday: 10.50pm :)
    Tuesaday: JUST! 10.59pm!!

    Evening all

Thanks again so much to each and everyone of you who has given me advise and support and to those of you who filled my PM box.

I wont clog the thread with all the details but DS2 is mortified by what he has done and is being punished at school. He has cried so much and is emotionally drained now and asleep. It has all come down to a silly comment written when frustrated by a situation which has been on going. At least that has now been brought to light and hopefully will be dealt with.

Oddj - your black cat comment made we laugh. We have 2 black cats and I often stroke the female one and say things like 'you have such a beautiful black face' and the kids scream at me you can't say that it's racist, I explain to them that it isn't she is a black cat with a beautiful face.

Dinner out for DS3 birthday was a disaster so all in all not a great day. Let's hope tomorrow is better.

Still I did nearly finish the kitchen earlier, must update my list.

And to lower the tone...one of my dogs keeps farting!!

That's funny! :rotfl: She hasn't had baked beans has she? My DH has to wear a gas mask if I have had them, actually even if I haven't! The other night I was snoring because I have a cold and farting! He wasn't very happy in the morning!
Dusty, glad it's all sorted out now. Sounds like he won't do it again.
