Yep hopefully the Ctas feeling better today whether it's been to the Vets or not. I do hope she comes back to let us know he's ok (Or she?) & i'd be interested to know, thru this or any other post, if CP etc do help with vet costs, I know more than most how easy it is to be caught short as I have an illness that means I can't control money!0

I think it is so unfair for new posters to come in here and have this treatment for having views that are different....it doesnt make it a pleasant place to be.
Some of you are very nasty to new posters when you dont agree with them, but if one of the regualrs were to say the same thing, its all nicey nicey then. Its not very nice.
There is nothing wrong with the way the OP has dealt with her cat and she needed some reassurance.....not dictating to.
Interesting comment there, LittleTinker, and I wholeheartedly agree with you. Shame you couldn't take some of your own advice, as you're usually extremely judgemental to those with differing opinions to your own. I presume you'll be having this thread closed too, as it clearly asks for vet advice which is against board rules (unlike the other thread you had closed).
Hope the OP's cat gets the professionaladvice it needs. No-one here is in a position to diagnose treatment, as we haven't seen the cat, and we aren't professionals. However, if the OP says the cat is in pain, then surely we take the OPs word for it? Excellent advice seems to have been given already - see the CPL, RSPCA for reduced-price diagnosis/treatment. I hope the OP comes back to post with the outcome.0 -
my concern centres around the diagnosis of the injured cat...how does the OP know that the only damage is ripped out claws? she doesn't know what happened to the cat so a visit to the vet for a check over seems like the kindest thing to do.
for example, when i was at my vets once a young couple bought a staffie pup into the surgery, the puppy was wimpering and it's foot was swollen. they thought it had got a thorn in it's foot...but no, the vet had a feel around and suspected a broken bone.0 -
I hope the cat is ok. Not everyone is doing well during this credit crunch and perhaps she didn't think properly before getting this cat.
My brother has a dog, kitten and gold fish he can't afford to feed himself some days but makes sure his pets are well fed.
I wish the OP good luck at the vets and with the rest of the pregnancy

Cats are very resiliant and will usually clean their own cuts quite well, f you can't afford the vets try abandoning outside a vetinary practice at night in a box, that way it should get the treatment it deserves. You can always get another kitten free from the pdsa once the baby is older
!!!!!! Sorry I don't normally swear but this comment is unbelievable :rolleyes:0 -

What is your problem?
This thread is entirely different and new. Why do you need to bring up your past problems again?
You have your opinion of me layed out and thats fine....but you are beginning to look like an idiot bringing it up in every thread.
And why on Earth would I want to request this thread closed?0 -

That would be a valid reason for closing a thread, from the Pets board guide.
What reason did you give for closing the 'found a cat' thread?
OP - have you tried phoning your local vet and asking advice? Maybe he/she can recommend a payment plan, or even a free consultation clinic?0 -
A bit of advice....for the cat owner, since everyone else is keen to add their shouldnt have a cat routine...
Salt water will usually help cleanse the paw...then perhaps contact your local vets if there is not a PDSA local...my local vet offers a "PDSA" type clinic arrangement, as we do not have a pdsa living in a rural area
My dog recently cut its paw and the vet suggested salt water to start with. Some vets will also allow you to pay weekly - some will only charge around £7 to see them initially, but others will charge £20+ so check first
But dont use peroxide, and please get it checkout out, it will cost more if it goes septic0
