LT - the Op has titled her thread "I need vet help" - so I fail to see how offering advice on getting help with vets bills is not relevant and helpful. You need to be able to sit back sometimes and let people use some common sense

I just wrote that some gave her advice on how to get vets help and some gave her advice on what to do at home.0 -

The two things that got to me were firstly the OP says the Cat is in alot of pain, not no pain, not slight pain or uncomfortable but alot of pain. Cats generally hide pain well. Now, only a Vet can help with the pain aspect (Not saying they would, but only they can). I wouldn't like to be left in alot of pain & I doubt anyone else would. I doubt anyone'd leave their kids in alot of pain. So why a pet?
The other thing is that the OP says she can't afford Vet bills. Of course that's a concern & yes it's her concern but any animal lover doesn't like to hear of Pets suffering because the Owner can't afford a Vet. The OP hadn't even called one for advice afaik. I may be wrong. Having no money isn't an excuse or reason to not see a Vet.
Anyway, several posters have mentioned ways to get money & Vet help, so I hope the OP has now taken the Cat to the Vet & it's feeling better, hopefully she'll update us all.0 -

yup, good luck to the OP and her cat - the fact that she asked on here suggests she cares about the cat, but I think she needs to develop some strategies, not only to deal with this which will hopefully be a minor injury, but any later costs/vet bills - they can pop up at any time, and not having the money is no fair reason to let an animal suffer.0

It isnt suffering. Its paw hurts because it got into a fight and lost some claws.
Not everything that happens to animals is a major drama. Sheesh!0 -
Well if the op never come back to post on Mse who could blame her? With the reception she got as a newbie I certainly wouldn't!!
Firstly those of you making assumptions on how the op can afford to have a baby, I'm actually dumbfounded as to how anyone would post that. The op is probably spending what surplus money she has on buying baby equipment, clothes etc. Hence why she probably can't afford to bring her cat to a vet. And quite frankly it's no ones business if he can or cannot afford a baby. She didn't come here looking for advice or comments on her being pregnant.
She obviously does care for her cat or she wouldn't have asked for advice here.
Op ignore those judgemental replies you've received. Welcome to Mse:hello:
There is some very good advice posted for you on charities who will help you out with vet fees. Safest thing is for a vet to check your cat out. Best of luck.
Hope everything works out.:):hello:0 -
Well, if you can't afford a Cat a baby will be much more of a shock. To me, if you're spending all your excess money on baby stuff (And i'm not saying she is, we don't know that) then it seems the Cat has been forgotten already. Surely you'd keep at least the cost of a consultation by? The Cat is suffering because it's in alot of pain, pain IS suffering. If you go to a pet loving board, say you have a cat that's suffering & you can't afford a Vet, but are having a baby, it to me is the same as well, I can't afford a Vet but have a car on the drive etc
The OP didn't say she'd called a Vet, or give any impression of wanting to take the Cat to see one. I agree with FC that she obviously cares about it, but we can only go on what she's said. And with what she HAS said, it's obvious many are going to be upset or want to know the Cats seen a vet.
Hopefully the OP will say what happened & if she had any luck with the options suggested, we've all tried to help her0 -
My point is at this moment in time she may not be able to afford a vet. Perhaps she bought a new buggy this week, and didn't expect this to happen No one is perfect we can all get caught short of money. I just feel it's unfair to judge the op, saying she shouldn't have a cat.
Anyway we don't know the full story, the op hasn't been back to defend herself. So I wish the op luck with her cat and her pregnancy:):hello:0
