I know this may not sound exactly MS, but its recommended to use ironing water instead of water straight off the tap to avoid scale build-up in steam irons. I never bothered in my previous iron and it did make a difference in my current one when I started using ironing water.0

Do you mean de-ionised water? I don't think the fragranced ironing water would be recommended. I do rinse mine out every few uses though. We have soft water here but you still see some muck come out.0

best iron I ever bought. seems expensive but worth it. it makes ironing so much easier and it does a better job too. I bought a morphy richards one in comet - was around £70.
what has been even better....mr dogrose, because it is so much easier, has taken to doing the ironing.would have paid twice the price if I had known how much he would love it

I got a Polti steam iron from Makro a while ago. It had no instructions with it but it was only £45!! It's a brilliant iron, really gets through the ironing in a flash, I'd recommend it to anyone.
I've kept my old ordinary steam iron though, for quickly doing uniforms in the morning.0 -
We have one and its brilliant! Probably saves about a third off the normal time.

As far as ironing water is concerned - if you have a condenser tumble drier - use the water from that to put in your iron - I use it in my polti steam generator all the time.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Just what I do, I save the water from the TD in an old 2L water bottle, have used it in my present iron ever since I bought it and there is no scale on the iron at all........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
