You've not caused the problem, the Animal Rights terrorists/do-gooders have hijacked the thread to shove their views down our necks.

I was trying to be a bit more subtle:D

So, what you're saying is that anyone who helps readers to make an informed choice about whether or not to take advantage of this grabbit offer, by reminding them that behind the only-slightly-sleazy surface of the dog racing industry there lies a tradition of vile cruelty and crime and traditions and practices of garotting and beating in the heads of the seven thousand dogs each year that don't make their venal owners money any more, is a terrorist. Or worse, a do-gooder.

What is wrong with doing good? Is doing bad better?

Are the cruel and pointless deaths of seven thousand healthy dogs each year a Good Thing?

There are hundreds of people posting opinions in threads in this forum every day, including many on Grabbit. Are they simply posting a comment (which you're perfectly at liberty to ignore, something I thought was the very antithesis of 'terrorism')?

Or are they all trying to ram something down your throat?

Or is it only when you don't agree with their views it's a problem? And it's ok when it's something as trivial as 'Asda crisps make me vomit?'

Frankly I'd pay more attention to certain people's comments on this if they applied a consistent approach but some seem quite happy to voice their own opinions on Grabbits, (and other threads where it could be argued to be inappropriate/irrelevant), when it suits them.

I think that's more than a little unfair, as anyone looking at the first few posts would be able to determine for themselves. There was mostly a well tempered debate, spoiled by one person flinging insults, and he stopped for a while because he had school in the morning. ;)edited to add - I see he's deleted or amended some of his more egregious and insulting posts.

And we seemed to have changed some minds! Which is nice.

By the way, why are those of us who have chosen to point out that there is a depressing and deadly underside to the greyhound trade always described as being formed into "brigades?"

More seriously, I note that there's quite a few people who deplore the idea of debating the morality of some of the offers posted here. I think that's a pity. There's nothing to be gained by being an unthinking consumer.

Thank you - I thought this was a great offer, it is!!
I like the thought of going to the races etc etc.

I am pleased that people reminded/informed me of what happens to the poor greyhounds.

I do not want to aid and abet to cruelty to these gorgeous animals!!

Count me out - but not your fault op!! No-one thinks you back this cruelty!! We have all learnt!!
ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷
