Since you keep going on and on about the RSPCA what about... 'The RSPCA says about 12,000 greyhounds a year disappear and are unaccounted for. '
And their campaign for the welfare of racing greyhounds....

The NSPCC state they will stop child creulty. They never will because it will always exist in some form or other. This doesn't mean the NSPCC aren't trying.
The NSPCC doesn't perpetrate cruelty to children. They don't garotte children they can't make money out of, and they don't stove in their heads and fling them onto bonfires when they're finished with then. The greyhound trade does all these things with dogs once they've finished with them, whatever some lord says.
Big difference.0 -
Funny that the RSPCA don't think greyhound racing should be banned.
Funny that they are lobbying the government to introduce regulations to protect the welfare of racing greyhounds. So dont use the rspca as support of this industry.
An inquiry, carried out this year by the Associate Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare (APGAW) revealed:
1, A minimum of 13,478 greyhounds bred for racing are considered 'surplus' to the industry,
2. At least 4,728 greyhounds in England are unaccounted for each year - these are presumed to be killed by the age of three or four.
3.At least a further 2,478 British-bred pups selected for greyhound racing each year never make it to the track - and are also unaccounted for.
THIS IS WHAT THE RSPCA THINK AND "NEWS FLASH" YOUR NOT THEIR SPOKESMAN.

Interesting it suits you to have your little school boy tantrums but get upset when people answer you back. I mean, reporting people, toys out of the pram. Did stamping your feet not work?0 -
So that's over seven thousand greyhounds that aren't accounted for each year. I wonder what happens to them.0
-
Yep. And the BGRB are working with the RSPCA to improve the situation.
No they're not. They are engaging in a defensive PR campaign to stave off being banned. They will never stop the kind of sleazeballs who infest the greyhound trade from doing what they've always done, which is to garotte and stove in the heads of the dogs they can't make money out of. Apparently seven thousand dogs a year in this country alone.0 -

I think if people keep telling me its not true maybe i will believe start to believe them.
yeah thats the answer.
Well, I've been thinking about this, and the way I see it, what probably happens is that the sleazeballs who infest the greyhound trade garotte and stove in the heads of the seven thousand dogs they can't make money out of each year. I think that is probably what happens.0 -
Yep. And the BGRB are working with the RSPCA to improve the situation. I've never owned a greyhound but if I did I would do everything to make sure if I passed the dog on it would be cared for.
But according to DEFRA 850 million chickens are killed in the UK each year
http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/diseases/vetsurveillance/species/birds/
and 23 milliion turkeys and 29 million ducks. It makes 10k dogs pail into insignifigance doesn't it?
The solution, believe me, is to not campaign to ban greyhound racing in the UK as it will never happen (and if it did look at fox hunting) but to work with the BGRB and charities like RSPCA to minimise (you will never eliminate) creulty.
Interesting that when people cant defend their point of view they look to confuse it with other issues,
Remind me which chickens, ducks and turkeys are bred for racing/entertainment industry?
There was me thinking they were farmed as part of the food chain?
your posts are getting more rediculous everytime.0 -

I must say you're presenting an attractive argument for the industry you say you're not part of.
The deaths of 10,000 dogs 'pales into insignificance' but yes of course welfare issues have been addressed.
The racing industry makes an awful lot of money for some people (shame so little of it ever goes towards the welfare of the dogs) so of course they're going to make a token effort to stop it being banned.0
