I suggest as soon as posts get 'political' the moderators delete all posts apart from the original post and then don't allow any other posts to be added to the OP

Wow, I never thought I would create so much debate!

Maybe it's best if I ask a moderator to just delete the whole thread then the board can be used more appropriately and things will stop getting so heated and personal.

Having only been my second post and only having used this website for a couple of weeks I have learned a valuable lesson and in future will probably check new threads with a moderator to try and not cause these problems again.

It most definitely is not your fault.

You posted a GRABBIT, which is exactly what this forum is for, it was then hijacked by the animal rights brigade and the personla insults started flying.

I pmd a moderator this morning to ask about deleting all the insulting posts. I havent had a reply though

I think that's more than a little unfair, as anyone looking at the first few posts would be able to determine for themselves. There was mostly a well tempered debate, spoiled by one person flinging insults, and he stopped for a while because he had school in the morning. edited to add - I see he's deleted or amended some of his more egregious and insulting posts.

And we seemed to have changed some minds! Which is nice.


By the way, why are those of us who have chosen to point out that there is a depressing and deadly underside to the greyhound trade always described as being formed into "brigades?"


More seriously, I note that there's quite a few people who deplore the idea of debating the morality of some of the offers posted here. I think that's a pity. There's nothing to be gained by being an unthinking consumer.

I went through the offer last night and received the email. I informed my wife and 7 year old this morning and they were keen to go. I broached the subject of what happens to many of the dogs and my 7 year old promptly refused to go next Friday. He doesn't feel we should if that is what happens.
