DC's journey to become debt free and saving for wedding

Take car parking for example I budget about £60 each month for this. If I am in the office I normally have to pay car parking but if I am working out of the office car parking is free. So as I have already budgeted for this I just put the money towards a debt or savings. This way I don't spend it on rubbish.
If we don't have an evening party we could save about £740. We were thinking of inviting another 20 people to the wedding reception. Something so stupid as this is causing arguments between us.Mortgage: £59709.77 (26/08/17) Now £58683.93 MFD Nov 2033Current OP Savings £3952.68.

oh dear chickie, they do say planning a wedding is one of the most stressful things you can do. Can you come to a compromise? It's crazy isn't it, that you're arguing over the day where you plan to tell the world that you want to spend the rest of your life together.
I couldn't deal with the stress of it all, hence why we're getting married abroad.0

I would go for a later wedding reception and then perhaps invite the extra 20 later on so that anyone who doesn't want to dance doesn't have to. We went to a wedding where no-one danced and it was ok. You could do something different instead of dancing but not sure what lol0

what for adults? No I think it could be really quirky and entertaining, you might have to pay a lot for a good one though. but then if you're not having a DJ it wouldn't cost any more.0

No sounds unique. A wedding should be about what YOU both want not what is expected.
I already know I'm not having an evening buffet but pic and mix sweets. Also I'm not having a big cake but cupcakes, so everyone can have one. I may have a small round cake to cut but that's it.0

How does this sound after the meal we could sit and have a few drinks with some background music and have a walkabout magician. I have seen a guy who does this so I would need to find out the cost.Mortgage: £59709.77 (26/08/17) Now £58683.93 MFD Nov 2033Current OP Savings £3952.68.

I totally agree with yukkibear it is what you want and not what is expected.
It will all come right though, your day will be wonderful whatever you do.0
