What about a shrug if you can't find a dress with sleeves? I went to a winter wedding and the bride and bridesmaids wore some lovely fake fur ones.

OOOh that sounds lovely YB I've seen those fur stoles in bridal magazines they're ace. DC You can get long sleeved dresses, I was thinking of buying one when I was engaged the first time (don't ask!!!) it was like a medievel one, it was lovely, full wide sort of sleeves with a corseted top that went into a flowing skirt..

I've seen some lovely winter weddings, one where the bride wore a long white fake fur type coat that was down to the floor and had a big hood on it, gorgeous.. i always wanted a winter wedding, but the beach it is for me...

Well I took a load of my Matalan stuff back to the shop so that's a step in the right direction, mind youI shouldn't have bought them in the first place, rather disappointed in myself actually!! And I've just taken my last £20 out of my account!!! and it's only the 5 of the month!! I have no idea what has happened to all of my money, well I do I owed £300 on my wedding dress which I had to pay along with bills etc!! I've got £150 to come back from matalan and I've got to go to America tomorrow with work, but that wont be particularly cheap as it's for 2 weeks, but I should survive OH is away so I spend a lot less when he's not here. You do so well DC you put me to shame, when I come back from America I'm really going to buckle down.

Anyways, keep up the good work DC and I'll see how much you're savings have grown when I come back in 2 weeks, take care everyone and speak soon. (sorry for taking over your thread!!!!!)

I have transferred another £6.19 to the wedding fund. It has decreased cause of the deposit paid for the reception.

OH graduation is tomorrow and it is a 2 hour drive to the cermony so its going to be a 5.00am start tomorrow:eek:. I have to give him £100 for photographs and maybe £20 for something to eat. This should be the last big expenses he has for a while. He gets some JSA on thursday and anything he gives me I am putting towards the wedding savings.

I thought I had found my wedding dress today in the debenhams sale but I am only 5"1' and the dress is to long even with heels. I am not sure where does petite dresses here in NI but I will keep looking.

Can you not get it altered?

    Have fun tomorrow.
  • Well the graduation was good very tiring day though. Managed to save some money as OH mother bought lunch.

Have now passed my savings target of £310 for this month and we are not half way through the month yet. I might be able to save another £100 or so before the end of the month.

my dress had sleeves but if that hadn't been possible they were going to use the stole which came with a dress to add sleeves to a dress.

missymoo I've only got £20 left in my account till the end of the month, so i'm also uttering the cry where's it all gone? Unfortunately nothing for me to take back.

Fab news about the savings, love to be able to manage that.

I saw the exact colour I wanted for my wedding yesterday and now I'm really excited about bookig everything. We even had a quick look at rings whilst we were in town today. Just need some money now lol.

hey guys, just thought I'd check in from Arizona and say well done on the savings DC, it sounds like it's all coming together.

Well it's far too hot here and I'm trying my best not to save money but it doesn't really seem to be working. ho hum

oh well I may just let it slide a little bit whilst im here but get back on track when I'm home.

It's not a very good trip to be honest, I really wish I was home, but only a few more days to go thank goodness.

    Anyways speak soon

    xx
  • Another £13.29 added to the savings fund. Not a lot else has been happening. I have a few days off and not back to work until Thursday. It gives me a chance to get some studying done.

  • I won £5 on the free scratchcard which took me over the withdrawal limit so £10 is on its way to my bank account.
