  • Share the sticky toffee pud out then caz! Although I have eaten 2 doughnuts, 'some' chocolates (keep throwing the wrappers away so I can't count) and an aero mouse in the last 4 hours or so :o

]I totally get it! I'm not even big yet - have a v small bump at the mo and am 18 weeks tomorrow - but I'm finding it hard to do things and roll over in bed, etc., so I can;t imagine what it's like later on!!

I'm sure all my good intentions will be re-evaluated.

    Oh OK! I get it!

I'm (currently) big on not being induced so I've been reading about people who go on until 44 or even 45 weeks  and I am not even expecting Bubba to arrive until 41 weeks as this is my first.

But I can see how you get bored - I'm quite fed up already!!

Skinty, I don't suppose you have any links to stats at hand do you??
I want to know what the "risks" are in going over more than 2weeks. All i know is that it was decided at some point that 2 weeks was the magic amount.
I'm incredibly weary of being induced and was thinking I'd look into it so I had the ammo ready if/when they want to induce me
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

I've just had two huge homemade cheese burgers :D

Still got room for pud, mind you.. ;)
  • I know how you must be feeling caz - I plan to wait for my 36 week scan and then try everything to bring labour on. I am convinced the long walk I did the afternoon before DS2 was born did the trick.
  • I was induced and if you can avoid it AT ALL then try to do so.

I wasn't overdue. My waters broke on the Thursday morning then NOTHING. Nothing happened at all. Had to go in on saturday to be induced. I had one set of gel that morning and still nothing. Then they gave me another dose at 2pm and WOW. No gradual build up of contractions startign with the period type cramps in your back. No No No. Was suddenly thrown straight into the 3 mins apart incredibly painful contractions.

If I had my time again I would be doing ANYTHING in those 2 days to get the baby started on its own.
  • Sami - my MW told me last week that it is because that is when the placenta starts to work less effectively...the baby is 'fine' but the placenta would stop working...which I guess would make baby much less 'fine'...
