Have a hug feely - it's a quick one as in the office :)

So far today I am being ignored... hohum :) peaceful at least I guess.
Just sat reading maternity pages (rights and so on) so not actyally doing anything which I do feel a little guilty about but can't be helped - I'm not in the mood to be running round chasing stuff or doing reports today. My back is already hurting (well it was REALLY painful this morning already :( ) from the hours drive in and the sitting in the chair for just a couple of hours - who knows what it will be like by the end of the day (I dread to think!).
I sent a mail last night requesting details of holiday entitlement etc by the time I get to the 10th of May (monday before my due date) and was told that we could discuss that in todays meeting too - right... I didn't want to discuss it, I just wanted to know! Gimme a figure for goodness sakes!

So plan of action is to go in and keep it simple - I'm going to say basically I feel there is a risk to me at present with the long trips required for my job (1 hour to get to the office, 3.5 hours min for one of my sites, and 1 hr 45 to 2 hrs to another site as examples. Therefor I have requested a H&S assessment as spending that amount of time in the car is causing me a lot of pain in my lower back (something advised of initially in the middle of November and that I found driving long distances aggrevated it) and hip joints. Seperate to that sitting in the office is also very painful and if I go to our other office then no H&S checks have been carried out and I believe that the arrangements there are not at present adequate.
Moving forward my suggestion is that I am allowed to work from home for the time being. If they deem a that a safety assessment needs to be carried out then it would be great if they can point out to me where in the handbook it states that they must do so. At present several employees work from home, both for health reasons and occasional convinience. I will assume that these too will have to be H&S assessed to ensure their environments are safe and suitable?

Elle I'll PM you somestuff HR sent me :)

  • the way you are being treated is awful MrsTine, why are they ignoring you? have they always been like this or is it just since you got pregnant?
  • the doctor has given me a prescription for folic acid, im guessing i will have to pay for it as i dont have a maternity exemption cert yet? is it cheaper to buy it in boots?

Oh the ignoring only started yesterday :) Hohum... that I can deal with to be honest - it doesn't bother me much. Normally I'd probably relish it because it's easier to get on with my work ;)

Not had time to read all 30 pages since I was last one!

    Jackson'smum - is the prescription for 400mcg or 5mg?
I got it from Tesco - 2 tubs of 90 tablets for £2. But I take the pronatal vitamins which have your 400mcg of FA and all recommended pg vits.
Also, I am 8 weeks and my stomach is huge! I told my OH that if anyone in works asks I will just say I need a poo - that will shock them out of any pg thoughts!!!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY FEELIE :T :T :T :T :T :T :T

You chillax girl - OH's can be so mean and unthoughtful (is that a word?)

Congrats Auz and welcome any more newbies xxx

Mrs Tine - big hug to you too. Don't let them get you down.
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

JM, just tick the pregnancy choice on the back of the prescription and tell them you haven't got the card yet... I haven't even had mine yet and I'm 26 weeks!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Tescos is really cheap, ridiculous that you should pay nearly £7.
Too many children, too little time!!!
