Also, I went to an NCT sale on Saturday. I do not know if they are any nicer anywhere else in the country (I am in London), but I found it to be a grim shopping experience. It was only 2 hours long, I arrived in the second hour and saw women leaving with bin bags full of stuff. When I got in there wasn't a lot of stuff left, oh and 'nearly new' we all know is a euphamism for 'second hand'. Nothing nearly new about a lot of the stuff that was there in the 2nd half.
I am sure you could grab a bargain if you arrived early but I coludn't imagine elbowing those women that were obviously ther on a mission. Think of Oxford street on 26th December! Also people were filling up bags, then taking them to one side to actually look through the stuff properly to decide if they wanted it.
I didn't find it to be so cheap for the quality of some items. I think for second hand prices are probably better on ebay. There were some scanadinavian designer baby grows for £5 each but they were not 'nearly new'. TK Maxx has had designer baby grows in the last few months for about £7 each, so I would definitley not buy an old used one for £5. (ok, new in a posh shop they would be £15 but I wouldn't pay that either!).
I kind of regretted going. I bought some tat but felt compelled to go away with something because hubby and I had paid £1.50 each to get in.
I couldn't agree more! I went to one a few months ago & I have to say that most of the stuff I saw was a load of carp & not in that good a condition. I don't understand why people think they are so good!?
I buy much better stuff from our local carboot at a fraction of the price people pay at the NCT sales. Perhaps it's the thought of buying from a carboot that puts them off?
On the other hand do any of you know how much of the money that is made from the stuff you sell goes to the NCT? I think you could probably make some good money out of it if they don't take to much. Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!
Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:0 -

Looking through our H&S policies...
Offices/shops should be at 16 degrees and others places should be at 13 degrees if possible.
We should have a thermometer to see the temp - which we don't and if the heating was to fail then we should be provided with heaters, which we don't have.
But if only says reasonable steps should be taken to maintain these levels... I have spoken the the business centre manager and they have arranged an engineer to come out to sort the heating.0 -
complain NMS they are breaking rules... you can them in a lot of trouble esp with you and bump x

NMS are you in the sort of place where you can jus get some petty cash from someone? if so I'd just go get some petty cash and wander off to get a heater or two!
I used to work in a corner office where the 2 outside walls were 50% windows, none of which opened  the air con broke and the peope in charge of the building hired big industrial portable air con units although I think legally there isn't a too hot rule but It really truthfully was like a sauna for the day between the ac breaking and the temp ones arriving! we were taking it in turns to go and stick our heads in the fridge!!0 -
Ah - sad news about Kym Marsh's baby. I won't post details in case people don't want to read it0

Another question people,
When I went for my 12 week scan it turned out I was 19 weeks + 3. I had my blood tests which I understand I have to discuss with the midwife. I called the surgery yesterday and she said the midwife would "probably" contact me to discuss the results. Not very helpful. What have I missed? Should I have had the downs test by now? What's involved in the downs test?
So many questions
