You cant claim TC until you have your Child benefot number, the child benefit form is in the bounty pack you get after bubs is born at the hospital, and you need to register the baby before you can get child benefit.
I've had the bounty pack from the hospital but there was no child benefit form in there. I've printed one off the directgov website in anticipation.

Its the bounty pack that you get on the ward after the baby is born that the child benefit form is in... But you can't send off for it until you've registered the baby and have a birth certificate...
Incidentally, when you register the baby they only give you a short birth certificate but you can pay a couple of quid for the full copy... Worth doing there and then as you will need a full certificate to get a passport and if you get it at a later date it costs more...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Auzelia - congratulations - wow!
MFD - I am utterly shocked - the mw had things to sell?!:rotfl:
Hi to britonsarah.
elle - I think every hospital trust is different - however with dd1 I had DH and my mum there with me (this could have been a rule that they bent a little though) There was a waiting room for family members outside the actual labour area (which is locked - security, so there aren't people milling about where the babies are) I guess it depends as well when your labour starts and how long it lasts.
Nicki - lol - along the same lines... mil and fil turned up at the hospital 2 hours after I had arrived... they had been out for a long lunch  The air turned blue for 45mins (ok it probably wasn't that long) while dh got them to go home... and my dad phoned up *grr* I refused to speak to him :rotfl: We learned our lesson - with ds and dd2 we only phoned my mum (on duty to look after whoever was at home) to say that labour had started. Of course as soon as we had some arrival news we phoned everyone :rotfl:
What probably makes it worse is that I was overdue with all of mine, so would get phonecalls a couple of times a day along the lines of "has it not started yet?" I promise my verbal response was a lot kinder than the one I wanted to give!
sami - I didn't find out what flavour any of mine were - but this time I am not sureWe may well need to swap bedrooms around (the one that isn't being used just now was dd1 room when we moved here - she was in her purple phase so the room would be fine for a girl) If we needed a blue room it would be eaiser to move dd2 upstairs and decorate her room blue (as it is smaller and wouldn't need a new carpet!) I don't know though it would kinda feel wrong because I didn't find out for the others iykwim? I am also a mean mummy who puts even a tiny baby to sleep in their cot, in their room
I made the mistake of breaking this rule with ds and he was 2 1/2 before he would sleep the whole night in his own room.

Krystaltips wrote: »Well done AM! I'd been meaning to sign Aimee up for months then one day was walking past the pool and thought 'stuff it, might aswell do it now!' costs about £54 a term which works out at £3.74 for 30 mins... I was a bit grieved about the cost to start with but think it's worth it now she's going... And she loves it too!!
Plus if you pay by DD you get a crawley active card which gives him free swimming all the time and discounts on other activities.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

That's a good system AM, I noticed yesterday that all the local pools have big signs saying free swim for under 16s... jackson started swimming lessons in jan when he turned 3, he got to jump the huge waiting lists as we have been going to parent and toddler classes every week since he was tiny. he has always loved parent and toddler but he absolutely hates his lessons, he cries all the way through them, its awful to watch him but the instructors dont mind, they have seen it all before and say its best to perservere than to give up. its £12 a month by dd and he also gets free swimming, certificates and badges.0
