I am dreading to think what DD does at that age, I was a right little cow at that age, drinking most nights, doing what-nots with the wrong people and ocassionally just not coming home and then phoning for a lift the next day.
She better not be like me, but at least I should have the experience to deal with it????The two best things I have done with my life

Evening All
((hugs)) to those of you who are having a bad day.
Not trying to rub it in..but...
I have had a lovely day today. Midwife came and went by 10.30, so I now have my home-birth stash, G&A is ordered, vit k is ordered, and I just need to get bits and bobs ready and in one place ready for the big day/night.
Then my little sister came round at 11am and we chatted for an hour, I helped her out with some Uni stuff, and then she ran me to B&Q to get the bit of wood I needed for under the cot mattress (for the sensor pad monitor). She dropped me off home at 1pm which was perfect timing for meeting the girls at work for lunch over the road at our local pub (so local we can see into the bar from our window!!!) The meal was to celebrate one of the girls birthdays (50th)...a few of us who weren't actually in work stayed when the others left, which took me perfectly up to 3pm and time to waddle down to pick the kids up.
Got to the school and ds1 has been invited round to a new friends house on Thursday...which I am so happy about as we have had a lot of trouble with him and another 'friend', that we have now banned him from playing with!! So I am pleased he has made some new friends, and they seem lovely too...I love the boys name too (Finley). Also found out that ds1's guitar lesson was cancelled as the tutor was sick, so was happy that we then didn't have to hang about for an hour and could go straight home:)
Sorry for the long post, it is just so rare (lately) for me to have lovely days like this where everything goes smoothly....And now dh has just said he is about to turn that 'stoooopid' flaming PS3 off and we are going to have a look through the stuff the midwife brought, and chat about names.....We still can't decide between Isaac or Kai. I absolutely love both names BUT I am unsure if Isaac goes well with our other boys names, because it is quite traditional whereas the boys names aren't????? The middle name will be Thomas, no matter which we pick...So Isaac Thomas OR Kai Thomas I love both, and whichever one we don't use will probably be kept for boy#4;)
Mel x
P.S - Congrats r.mac:D Sorry you didn't get your HB, but i'm glad you and baby are well:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

They think we didn't do it or don't remember coz we're sooo old
I'm waiting for the first time he comes home doing the "I'm soo not drunk" act :rotfl:I've been there, lost the memory and chucked my guts up to protve it
although I didn't get caught out by my mum coz she was a good girl! Dad would have but he's not very hands on so missed most of it, plus what could he say I was never as naughty as he was - he'd be a hypocrite to tell me off
Oh Sami - I remember getting legless the weekend before my 18th (my parents knew I was in the pub, I was with my big bro) and coming home and literally vomitting in my lap as I sat on the sofa
What I said is now legend in our family:
Me: Bleurgh
Dad: What are you doing?
Me: I think I have been sick...
My parents and brother don't really drink so I am the black sheep of the family for enjoying the odd tipple!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

My BF little boy is called Kai and I have Isaac as my main choice if bump is a boy, so I like both !!!
Personally think Kai Thomas sounds good together, but you will make the right choice !!!The two best things I have done with my life

I used to go drinking with my sister when I was about 17... My parents so obviously knew... I mean, I was spending the night at her house and she was going out but I was supposed to be stopping in on my own... Hmmm... At least stopping at hers meant I didn't have to pretend to be sober when I got in... Although we got friendly with a pub landlord and used to have lock ins and beer fights... And I would just stick my stinking clothes in the wash for my Mum on a Sunday night... They never had a problem with me drinking underage... but I wasn't allowed to smoke in front of them till I was about 20!
And my Mum's sole piece of advice on contraception used to be the phrase 'There'll be no more babies in this house' trotted out every couple of months... Just in case we forgot...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
