I adopted the rabbit from the RSPCA place, and they recommened him for us. He doesn't like other rabbits, or kids, so needed to go a couple, with someone home all day. Not many of them around, so he'd been waiting a while. Hopefully he'll take to the baby!
My Mum chose the Cat. Our first cat was the most affectionate thing, a bit like a dog really, but this one doesn't like anyone! It bites quite a lot too!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

See its nothing to do with you its that you didn't chose a pet with a compatible personality  and I'm sure your bubba will love you loads obviously!! just don't be surprised if it seams to like daddy more once at toddler stage  they're so fickle!
Sounds a bit mental but have you thought about getting a doll and carrying it around with you (at home) so the animals get used to a funny little person being around? I read somewhere ages ago that it was a good way of getting them used to it0 -
Hey :hello:
Just wanted to pop on to say I hate my employer
As much as I love my job I hate the organisation I work for so much - I can't wait for bean to arrive so I can go off and then look for another job.
I was promised the next promotion and they've given it to someone else who cocked up massively in one place whilst I've been doing really well and taking on extra work! Felt like crying just now when the CEO had a 'quiet word' because I had disciplined a member of my staff for chatting for 20mins with one of her staff! Mine told hers she was gonna be in trouble!
!!!!!! - let me do my job. Can't wait to announce I'm pg - their faces will be a picture, they will be so !!!!!!!!!!!
There are too many politics and walking on eggshells.
Bloody hips still hurting and my stomach feels about twice the size it should be!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Morning everyone.
I don't seem to have a lot of spare time to pop in lately, but was just catching up and noticed the posts about partners (dad's) deing strange with baby 2...
My dh was exactly the same, ans to be honest it took him a good few years to actually bond with ds2. I really don't know why!!! In fact to be completely honest, he barely acknowledged he was even here, apart from when he was moaning about him... until he was about the age of 3/4
Yet with this baby he is so happy and keeps touching my belly and asking how I am and if baby, has been moving around ok.etcc.....He even kissed my belly yesterday...which I was mega shocked at, as he has never done that before!!!!!
Anyway, here's hoping he bonds with this one a lot quicker than poor ds2, who really did get the short straw. Although dh does love him now and pretty much treats both boys equally now!
And on another note - midwife is due tomorrow with my home-birth box:D

As you can see have had a few babies but have always manged to borrow one. My sister doesn't have hers anymore but I got one on Saturday from ebay. Mamas and Papas in creme with a biege teddy, rocking stand, no frills at all. Baby at the house when I collected it was only 6 weeks old so hardly used, £26.:TToo many children, too little time!!!0 -
Loulee - I am not bothering with a moses basket as my last two hated it... My friends baby however is 3nths old and still in hers quite happily!!!! Sorry I know that hasn't helped much.
Would be best if you could borrow one or pick one up cheap as poss secondhand.
Tara - how many hb's have you had?

Hi girls,
not able to keep up with the chat at the moment so congrats to all the newbies and to rmac and 3onitsway for the new arrivals! (3onitsway - I'm so hoping for a birth like yours!)
I've got a quick question for you HR/SMP guru's...someone mentioned the other day that in their day (think decades ago rather than years) you had to go back to work for at least 2 years before you were entitled to SMP again. Does anyone know what the current policy is? do you have to go back to work for any specific length of time between having children?
I know I've not had the first yet, but just interested to know as current thinking is that we would like the next one fairly soon after (although that might change once it's here!)
