Good excuse not to wash up then FG ;)

Am glad everything is OK AM and you get an extra scan too! Make sure you spend a lot of time on your hands and knees to try and get him to turn... (and tell you OH to be a bit more gentle in future lol) I can remember one midwife pushing down on Aimee to measure my fundal height... It was my last appointment before she was born and my pelvis was agony at that point, I nearly hit the ceiling with the pain!

Ooh - no Rmac today - it must be the baby this time!!

DD(8) had a teacher training day today, so i took her to see my friend with her 8 week old baby girl! DD wasn't too impressed, the 2 year old big brother was much more fun!

Had the strangest feeling about how weird it was that I had one of these little people in my tummy - and she'll be coming out very soon! And OMG - i've no idea what to do with a new baby! I'm hoping it will all come back to me.

  • Hiya All,

Just popped on for a quickie.it took me ages to read the last 14 pages! Must log on more !!!

Went for my 14 week check up on Wednesday and had a bad experience with a midwife....it could be me but i really felt that she went on and on and on about the risks of spina bifida and downs exspec cos of my age and she advised me that i should go for a private scan to check the risks...I would of had a scan before where the check the fluid..cant remember the name of it and now apparently im too late for it. I knowthe risks for mums over 35 are suppose to be higher but surely the current statistics are on my side?? I started crying whilst i was there , a wuss hey! But i feel low as it is at the moment without her comments.I was in for an hour and a half !

Anyone else felt the same or just a case of hormones for me? Sorry to waffle on X

awwww searching... have a coughy hug from me :)
I've managed to help hubby put some stuff up the loft from the nursery so feel I've actually done SOMETHING today :) Later I'll get round to cleaning the bathrooms and toilets so they're done - might even have a quick wipe round the kitchen whilst I'm cooking dinner....

Not quite the same, but my Consultant at my 20 week appointment was very stern with my about my weight. She went on and on about the risks, gave me a scary leaflet and basically ran me down for getting pregnant while being so fat! I was pretty upset for a few days afterwards. I want to know the risks, but she just seemed to be trying to make me feel bad. I think hormones definitely make these things harder, but it would appear that some people just don't realise how they are putting things across.

Hope you feel better soon x

  • FG - Thats terrible. People can be so insensitive. It doesnt help things though does it and just makes you worry even more. To be honest i've put things into perspective after my boss told me she had a 1 in 12 chance of having a baby with downs. She said she'd have to have 12 babies for one of them to have it somewhere in that 12 ,i thought if you put it like that yeah its a pretty low number. Ive decided not to have the tests (i think!) thanks for your answer x
