Tried getting jiggy last night, to uncomfortable. I've had to many babies so my tummy hurts by the evening anyway.
Contractions, hmm! Some people have them in their back, others feel them in the tops of their legs, it's when they get in your lower belly that they matter. It started like a period pain and built up to a point where I didn't feel I could move. It's overwhelming. If you use gas and air remember to suck in plenty as the contraction starts, before it hurts as it takes a short while to work. You still feel it but don't tense against it which helps you along. It sounds scary but remember how lucky we are, many women in other countries still go through this alone. As the baby comes out it's gone, it's an amazing thing we women do!
I am thinking about the 'women giving birth up trees' comments from a few months ago when I read this!
thanks tara - not had anything like that at all - but tonights the night(If I say it often enough it will come true!!!)
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Apparantly, further on in pregnancy, orgasms can bring on Braxtons Hicks. Should be interesting.

r.mac - I didn't have contractions for very long, but from what I remember it was as tara explained above...feels like period pains, low down in belly. I remember them finally checking me at the hosp when they saw me double over with one of them!! I was 8cm by this point, and had bags packed ready to go home. Had been discharged too Hmmmm, baby would have been born in the car park if she hadn't decided to check me 'on the off chance' useless bloody hospital.

Same here, i've been told that i'm not allowed to have it tomorrow night, and if i do start off, i'll be able to hold on for 90 minutes, won't I?
Oh, they make you laugh! I told my OH I would have to give birth at Goodison Park in the middle of the game to ensure he's there - to be fair he does work at the ground on match days and has a very important job but I've told him he'll have to get cover just in case. If it's just a match on tv he can haul his !!!! off the sofa and get me to the hospital pronto!!
Am a bit gutted I'm not due in May because then OH would be off for 5 weeks in between footy seasons!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

Gah, closed my eyes for a minute at half 3... Couldn't wake up properly till 5... Poor Aimee... Entertained herself by cutting up tissues...
The first time I got pregnant was a bit more difficult to tell my Dad because I was on my own really... I waited till I had my dating scan (7w6d) and took the picture... I said 'Dad guess what' and he asked if I was getting married (we're a sarcastic family) I said no but I'm pregnant... He rolled his eyes at me... Then when his girlfriend came in the room he said 'you're going to be a Nanny' she looked at my sister first because she already had a baby and I was infertile... But we put her right and she got really excited for me, which was nice! I wasn't really talking to my Mum at the time so dropped it into conversation when she phoned me up... In a really 'Oh by the way, I'm pregnant' kind of way... It rebuilt our relationship really because she couldn't do enough for me after that!
We told everyone over the phone this time because hubby was desperate to tell everyone and I didn't want his Mum knowing before my parents...
As far as getting jiggy... There was a while where me on top was uncomfortable for him but I think somethings shifted now and thats the only way we've tried really... I'm not keen on any of the reverse positions because I don't get enough stimulation (little man in a boat) although there was talk of dusting off my BOB the other night... It's been out of operation since hubby and I started sleeping together....A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

And back... only slightly over 24 hours delayed! Blooming snow and this country's inability to deal with a light covering! ARGH! Utterly nuts! All flights to Stansted were cancelled so after a LONG day of trying to get flights yesterday we got one this morning - I am KNACKERED!!!
However it's so good to be home in my own house again... I might even get lucky tonight if I play my cards right
Jiggyness... well - DH isn't really into the whole sex whilst pregnant thing sadly - but when I jumped him the other day I found doggy worked best for meAlthough me on top worked too but bump did get in the way a little...
As for Roo - she's obviously doing well - she definitely hates busses as she let her displeasure at being on one yesterday be known in no uncertain terms! The kicks she was dishing out!
She's been kicking well today too and she's still jiggling round loads with lots of alien looking activity - much to DH's amusement
And me... I'm knackered, worn out, just wanna curl up and sleep. It was a tough weekend, saying goodbyes to nan and granddad and then being stuck an extra 24 hours when all I wanted was to go home....
Oh well... home now and not intending to go to the office tomorrow - also have to rebook my 25 week check with doctor as it was supposed to be this morning when I was midair over northern europe oh and I think I might be coming down with a cold (either that or being round lots of smokers has given me the same symtoms...)DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Nice to see you back Tine, sorry your journey was so bad! Aimee never liked the bus either but this one doesn't seem bothered...
Hope its the smokers and not a cold too!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
