There is a recipe on parsleysoup.co.uk.

I've got about 100 posts to catch up on. Our new computer crashed on Sunday and we've only just got it back from a friend. He's managed to get it going again, but I don't know how to retrieve everything on it. Looks like DH is going to have to take it to a colleague at work to do that for us.

Great - thanks, will try the recipe out!

Please try Soya Glace, £1.80 in Sainsbury's. You will never go back to Tofutti ;)

I used to buy Swedish Glace from H&B, but unfortunately they only stock Tofutti now, and it's not as nice. Our local supermarket used to sell First Glace, which was even nicer than Swedish Glace but they haven't sold it for years.

There are some very nice vegan choc ices which I've bought in the past from H&B. Also they used to sell some children's ice cream on sticks - can't remember the name - and they were nice. I've tried the 'cornetto' ice cream, but found the cone a bit soft rather than crispy. Not too bad though.

but you will never look back- if you'll remember to trim that stalk. Seriously trim the stalk. Can you tell that I didn't at first by any chance! :D

I'll second that. Deffo trim the stalk!!! I've trimmed mine right off now.

Luckily none of you know me, so if you meet me in the street you won't laugh at me - but when I first started using the mooncup I had such a panic when I couldn't get it out:eek: I thought I'd lost it :o In fact I nearly abandoned all dignity and almost called my DH to try and get it out for me :o:o:o:o:o (and I still had some stalk left on it then!). You are the only people in the world I've ever told that to. I've never even mentioned it to my DH. :D

I would never go back to pads/tampons now. I only use the dishwasher when I need to clean my mooncup - and I put the oven trays and washing up bowl in at the same time :rotfl:

  • I bought the book vegan with a vengeance which is full of 'delicious cheap animal free recipes'. Unfortunately they all seems to involve tofu or something called tempeh.

I' more scared of tofu than I am of mooncups lol. I've never tried it before it looks..... wrong. But I'm going to go and purchase my first lot on Monday any suggestions for best type? And this tempeh stuff I've googled it and it looks a lot like tofu. Would I get it in Holland & Barret? Sainsburys deny the existence of it :D

Tofu is great - it just looks horrible
It's dead easy to use and once you get used to it you'll wonder how you ever lived without it! (sorry i'm not really in a position to compare it to a mooncup...lol).

    Tempeh is vile stuff imo.

I watched it!! I really fancied tofu stir fry after watching it, but already had my magic loaf in the oven, did it when the chicken section was on! I think using so many ingredients and using three frying pans might put some people off though. This is the first time they have had a vegetarian guest! Lets hope they get a vegan guest one day.
Something for the weekend on Sunday mornings usually feature a couple of vegetarian dishes and sometimes they are quite easy to adapt to vegan. Shame on them though, when they had a vegetarian guest a few weeks back, they didn't cook all vege, especially since the chef runs his own vegetarian restaurant!

Must go and update my blog now with my magic loaf results.
    (I also recomend the mooncup!)
