Going vegan......old style?!

RecoveringSpendaholic told me yesterday that Fry's Chocolate Cream is suitable for us :j I didn't know that. I knew that After Eights were suitable too but it's nice to find out other easily availble treats that are suitable. Anyone know of any other 'everyday' goodies that are?
Are After Eights definitely vegan again now? From what I've been reading they changed the recipe at the end of 2007 and added butterfat so that they are no longer vegan.
ETA just checked Sainsburys online and after eights are listed as containing butterfat on there. Divine 70% dark chocolate is suitable for vegans I think (according to their website) (although it lists may contain traces of milk on the Sainsburys site so depends how strict you are)0 -

I also have psoarisis on my scalp so use t-gel once a week (also a no-no in vegan world). nothing else I've tried (and believe me I've tried a lot) works and it's gets so bad I scratch til I bleed. Anyone know of a vegan frendly alternative? Normal Head & Shoulders type shampoos don't work.
I have found snake oil to be good for my psoarisis.

I found this good too, though as I have very thick hair it is a nightmare to apply. I've switched to using castor oil if you can get hold of it- it's harder to find than you might think. Also cyder vinegar- but don't let it run on your face it brings me up in red blotches- but it stings so feel's like it's working!:D0 -
Growing your own vegetables can save you a lot of money. This year I’m growing the following; courgettes (green and goldie), tomatoes (loads), cucumbers, peas, sweet corn, lettuce, spinach, onions (white and red), spring onions, beetroot, parsnips, carrots, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, leeks, melon, peppers, crab apples (have a crab apple tree in the garden) and I’m hoping my strawberries will again produce fruit this year. As a vegan I eat loads of vegetables so this helps. I’m also thinking of getting some fruit canes this year. I also grow a variety of herbs, they really are expensive for ‘fresh’ herbs in supermarkets etc. and they are no way as fresh as home grown!I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0

Sparklewing I have the same problem with medication, and will ask my doctor about alternatives next time I go. As for toiletries I've recently discovered www.greenpeople.co.uk not everythings vegan but a lot of it is, their moisturizers are really good and between them and Lush I've managed to find some lovely replacement products.
Now hairdyes another problem for me and I was only discussing this with dd today, she is a hairdresser and I love the colour she dyes my hair, like you I have alot of silver hair ( their not aloud to call it grey at the salon she works  ) I did think about looking at the hair dyes in H&B, are they the ones you mentioned ? Hopefully we will find a good replacement soon.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

food so that'll be fine.
So a few quick questions:
I know quorn sausages are not vegan due to the egg white but are Linda McCartney ones? I checked the ingredients and couldn't see anything unvegan.
Yes they are. Linda McCartney products will say "vegan friendly" if suitable. Personally i prefer Realeat fake products - you can get them in most health food places including Holland and Barrat
I've read some people avoid cane sugar. Is that normal cos that sounds like an utter nightmare.
Some vegans avoid sugar as it can be refined using bone char. I don't think this is the case in the UK (please correct me if I am wrong) - I couldn't find any info on the vegan society except that lots of the recipes include sugar.
Are alpro soya yoghurts tasty?
Yes they are my favourites are the strawberry and vanilla flavour , but I prefer the Provamell soya yoghurts (found in health food shops).
And are bourbourn biscuits really vegan (if so this'll be easy :rotfl:)
ASDA and summerfield bourbourn's are listed in the animal free shopper. Others might be vegan too.
Hope this is useful0 -
Alpro and provemel are owned by the same company "Alpro soya” part of the Vandemoortele group. The only difference to the product is that the provemel part of the company is 100% organic. On the other hand only a few products of alpro are organic. To my knowledge provemel are only sold in health food stores.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0

www.alternativestores.com I've just found this site and only had a quick look, but they have some vegan hairdyes that they claim cover 100% grey in some nice colours. I dont think dd will be convinced somehow thoughReal stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.
